feel better. For the past 2 years, Ive had to have my left side mammoed because they weren't sure - finally got the ok this last time and have been put back to annual. It's so hard when they say everything is fine but come back in 6 months - over and over again! I'm a worrier by nature anyway. Try and stay covered tomorrow and slathered up in the aloe vera. <sandra.mygroup@...> wrote: Just a quick note to let you know how I handled my day. I woke up hurting more today

then I did Friday or Saturday. I have my blisters weeping and skin beginning to peel. No I didn't exercise today. However I did go to my daughters and soak in the pool and stayed submersed under the water. I think maybe the chlorinated water helped some. I thought I was going to have to cut my wet shirt to get it off me as struggling to get a wet tshirt over a sun burnt arm , shoulder and neck was quite painful. I finally got it off without cutting it off. My daughter popped quite a few of the blisters and got them draining. I'm hoping tomorrow maybe the pain will start to ease up. I took a shower tonight and it didn't feel too awfully bad. I just tried to stay out of the main stream of the water. My eating wasn't real good either. I ate with my daughter and she had Mexican casserole and meatloaf and mashed potatoes. I didn't do portion control and I had a regular soda. Also I've been a bit worried about a lump I have under my right arm. Some of you may remember

Sure hope the sun don't give me too much grief. I'm going to try and take a shirt to lay over my arms and shoulders while in the sun. And goodness knows I hope my meals are better tomorrow. I hope your day has been better then mine. .....I feel for you girl. Maybe we was in the same skillet:) I'm a crispy critter. . Live, Love, Laugh

Yeesh. Sounds awful. I never saw the post on how you got so sunburned.

glitch I guess. I'm 42 and I've already had one basal cell carcinoma

removed from my face so I try to be careful to use sunscreen. In our

climate I should use it every day but I've never gotten in the habit. I

just use it when I know I'm going to be out for a while.

Also I've been a bit worried about a lump I have under my right arm.

I have lumps in my armpits that come when I get my period then go away.

Annoying but if it's cyclical it's not cancer. I hope yours is nothing.

Have you tried to get a job with health insurance?

- I did a quick peek and came up with this: http://www.breasthealthonline.org/cgi-bin/mwf/topic_show.pl?tid=48879 also try searching - ky"breast cancer screening"low cost, I came up with http://search./search?p=ky%22breast+cancer+screening%22low+cost & ei=UTF-8 & fr=slv1- & x=wrt A few years ago - tied up with aweness campaign in October there was a way to get a free mammo - but I'm not sure if they do that every year. , can you call the deptartment of health and see if anyone gives

free mammograms? I know we have at least two places around here that

will do them for free, but it's only a certain month of the year.

There *has* to be a way to get that checked out!

Hope you're feeling better today! The sun out here is deadly right

now. I put SPF 50 on my boys and they don't normally burn, anyhow,

but after a couple hours out yesterday, they're pretty red. And I

don't think we'll see much change until later in the week.

Oh , Sorry to hear about your sun burn. Those things can be miserable. Sounds like you got a really bad one. The only thing I like about sun burns is peeling them afterwards. I know I'm weird. LOL! But seriously I do know they can be very very very painful and I feel for ya. I hope that it gets better soon. Are you putting any thing on it to cool it? I know that there are lotions out there just for sunburns. I have seen them at Wal-Mart. from MO.

This was the only time I've ever had to go back. But now after finding this lump I'm thinking maybe the first test was right and they messed up on the second test. I did put on my sun screen today and I did fine. I've done returned home not the worst for going out. Mainly was out only long enough to go from the car in and out at the doctors then at wal-mart. So it wasn't a all day event as usual.

We have a health dept that goes on a sliding scale. I pay like 15.00 for a mammogram. But I think you can only get 1 a year and I've done had mine.I'm gonna dig out my papers sometime today and see just exactly when the last time I went in was. I think it was in November but not sure.I don't think they can get under your armpit on mammogram anyway. I would think that would be a biospy thing. And I'm not even sure the health dept does those

Oh I fried all right. I showed my sister-in-law via my webcam yesterday and she freaked. It looks a whole lot better today. It feels a lot better too.Still draining some but for the most part it's a whole lot better. I look for the peeling to get real bad now but at least that don't hurt:)

Doing something stupid like having a rummage sale in 105 degree temps.I

usually use sunscreen but I forgot it that day. The bad part of it was we

called ourselves staying in the shade.

Well this has been here for a couple months now. I was hoping it was

something that was a fluke and would go away but with it still being

there... I'm gonna get someone to look at it the next time I go in for my

annual. I don't think that will be till November though.

I don't even have a job. Hubby was raised with the learnings that the man

worked and the woman stayed home. He flips when he thinks I might get a job.

And now he is disabled and he has medicare and I have no insurance at all.

But that was such a strong belief him and his family has.

Oh , please be careful with the sunburn!

It can scar and lead to so many other problems.

If it isnt getting better quickly, please try and go to your clinic. You might need antibiotics if it continues to blister and peal repeatedly.

Thanks Heidi. But I am already a lot better. Still quite sore but the blisters are small now. Still draining but not as bad.Trust me....I'm not having any prolonged stays in the sun anytime soon. I'm fried but I sure don't wanna be known as refried:)

What about you? What do you want? Do you want to stay home with no health

insurance because your husband says you have to? Aren't you 41 years old?

Way too young to have such an old fashioned husband! He can no longer

provide for your well being so you need to decide what you need to do for

YOU. He might be disabled but you are not. You don't have to live in

poverty just because of your husband's archaic beliefs.

I knew that was get a reaction from some. LOL I have really never had a

problem with it. I knew this was a issue with him and his family before I

married him so it isnt something that showed up later. I could have gone

ahead and did my own thing years ago but why cause turmoil in a marriage

when I knew his opinions going in? Yes, it is old fashioned but when you are

raised a certain way it's hard to change how you feel. He still thinks to

this day it is just totally wrong for a woman to mow their own yard. Thats a

man's job. He was just raised with old fashion morals and beliefs. But with

that being said....I may have no choice. I will do this if I find I have to.

I'll just play it by ear and see what happens. If something major happens I

will have to take this step. He hasn't said I have to(he knows better then

this)but I will have to find a middle ground. :)

Thanks for the links. I did go and read on the web sites and follow some of their links and did my own search. I did read a lot about it and the causes etc....I sure appreciate you doing that for me. I have saved these sites so I will keep the info handy should I need to go and have more done. You are just too sweet to have taken your time to hunt that up for me. Thank You.

, I am sure you have gotten this 100 different ways: don't wait until something major happens. It's too late then. Insurance companies look for reasons to not have to insure people. Employed or not. If an employer has too many claims against the insurance in any given year, they raise the rates astronomically..... just something to chew on (no pun intended). Get a job and insurance before you *have* to..... My employer went to hiring temps first so they wouldn't have to provide insurance for the first 90+ days of "employment" because folks would get hired on just to get their much wanted, needed or whatever surgeries and procedures done to up and quit.

Hugs,

Ahhh... well, I would think if there is a problem or concern they might make an exception to any rules. It's not like you are going in there going "come on, please, I just LOVE having my boobies squished, please do another mammo early!" ;-) Maybe they can refer for the biopsy if that is needed....
