Yeah I'm still here but barely. Boy lately it has been hectic here. My son

has me sit down and work up his budget and his girlfriends. Spent a whole

day going though her bills and finally worked out what I call a good plan.

Then my sister in law calls wanting me to fix my bubs computer. I go get it

fixed. And no sooner do I get home and her power supply on her computer

goes. She decides its too old to repair so she buys another computer. I go

back to set her new computer up. My other sister- in- law has a wreck and

totals her car. So we check on her. The next day my daughter mother-in-law

totals her new van and ends up in the hospital all day so we are once again

checking on her. Today I go with my daughter to get the littles ones picture

taken and do some shopping. Tomorrow I have to go to my moms and set up her

dsl if her modem comes in. Now....thoughout all of this recently....I have

only missed exercise one night. I however cannot tell you how many calories

I have cosumed as I will be honest I havent the vaguest idea. I haven't kept

up at all. I totally gave up the last few days. I don't feel as if my eating

was bad but just one night when we had a cookout while computer

troubleshooting. I know....I know... I hear groaning coming from some of

you. I should have kept up with what I put into my mouth. I have already

found out that I lose weight better when I do that. Things has just been

busy but I know that is no excuse. I so tired. It seems this week I have

done things for everyone and ran for everyone but me. But as i said I have

been managing to get in 30 minutes of exercise and 8 cups of water. I just

wish I can get my rountine to include tracking food intake again. Man....

You have to work at this to stay on track and that in itself is wearing me

thin. I havent posted recently because it seems I get home in enough time to

check my mail and crawl into bed. But I have been reading each and every

post. But only replying a few that i can. Hopefully after tomorrow maybe

thing will be back to normal. I am just tired....tired or trying so hard to

stay on track. Tired of helping everyone. Tired of being tired. But I'm

hanging in there. I will get this calorie intake journaling down again.

(sooner or later) But I'm afraid by the time I do get it down to a fine art

I will be down to my goal weight:) Sorry If I have failed to welcome any new

members or comment to each person. I'll be back around more this week. Cause

I'm gonna put myself in the number #1 slot for a few days.:)

yep this is me replying to my own post:) I got up this morning and realized

this post dosent sound as I meant it to sound. It sounded like I was

griping. Truth be told...I love working on computers and visiting. It gets

me out of my same old 4 walls here at home.I would be upset if I couldnt get

out every so often and go help people. What I meant to say is I was just

tired of worrying about people. Tired of worrying about my own weight. Tired

of worrying in general. Seems like something is always going wrong. That was

just a short list of problems I have given. Then is a list about twice that

long of stuff that has messed up lately. I just wish things would go right

for about 1 month. And I need to make sure I get my time to rest and

exercise. Okay. I hope I cleared up my last post and made it sound as I had

originally intended it to.

But its so frustrating to get on a treadmill and walk and after a while you look down at the calories burned and realized wow, I have only burned off a small amount of calories. All this huffing and puffing and all I have saved is a measly hundred or so calories. But then I think but yeah, if I do this daily the weekly and monthly totals adds up. And the bad thing is you have to be on guard almost constantly. If is so dern easy to gain back.

Hi Bonnie, I'm still here. Just don't get on the computer as much as I was, but that might change soon. Hubby is off playing golf right now so I have the computer to myself for a few hours. I exercised yesterday. I was hoping that would be a start to keep going with it. I didn't get up early enough today to exercise. I might get some in before bed time tonight though. Just have to see. I am planning on setting my alarm where it will go off every day at a certain time and I can get up eat my breakfast and then wait half an hour and then do some exercising. I think if I have it planned out like that it might help. I need to get some kind of structure to my day going. If I have a set time for exercising I am more likely going to do it. The only problem is the actually getting up thing. It is so hard for me to get up of a morning. I am so not a morning person at all. It took me till 10:30 to get up this morning and then I had to force myself up. I am setting the alarm clock tomorrow to go off at 8:30 in the morning. I am really going to try really hard to get up and not roll back over when the alarm clock goes off. I don't know why I have such a struggle with mornings. I am not a night person either. I usually go to bed around 10:30. So I don't know why it is so hard to get up. I have heard that if you do something for three weeks I think it was, that it will become habit and not such a hard thing. So if I force myself to get up, maybe after a while it will not be nearly so hard. Well, I think I am rambling so I better stop. Just wanted to say "yes I'm still here". from MO. ? ?Hey ladies, in all the posts I've been reading, haven't come across anything from either of you in a while. How are you? Still hanging in there, ? , are you still riding the bike?Hope you both are well!-Bonnie

Is this true though, if we are honestly making lifestyle changes vs. dieting?? Gals that have lost several pounds, reached goal, etc??

Sorry if I don't understand the connection here between "morning" and "night" people and not getting up early enough to exercise? You *do* still have the same 24 hours in a day hon.... don't give yourself another exercise, make a "to do" list for each and put exercise close to the top, hopefully that will get it done. Do you have time to watch t.v. or talk on the phone or use the computer? If the answer is yes to any of those 3 you surely have enough time to exercise.

, You are right there are many hours in the day that I could exercise. If I want to work out to something on DVD or Video then I have to find a time when my husband isn't playing his music or not watching TV. That is usually in the mornings. Plus I don’t like to exercise after I have already taken my bath for the day. I guess though on those days when I want to exercise later that I could take two baths during the day. I don't think it would kill me. I did get up at 8:30 this morning. I was so proud of myself. I had set my tv alarm in my bedroom for 8:30 and after it came on I watched for a few seconds while they told the weather then I got up. I took my blood sugar, ate my breakfast, took my meds, and while waiting for a half an hour to pass so I could exercise after eating I read in my Bible. Then when it was time I worked out to my 1 mile WATP DVD. I was so proud of myself for getting up and actually doing what needed to be done. I am probably going walking later on at the mall too. So that will be extra. I thought since I haven't exercised right in a while that I would start off with the WATP one mile and then later on work up to the two miles, and other dvd's and video's that I have. I think it is easier for me and I have no excuses if I get up at a certain time and get my exercising in then. I am going to try and get up every day to do this at the same time. Except for Saturdays and Sundays. I have to get up earlier then that so I can take my hubby to work. Usually after taking him to work I will go back to bed, but think now I am just going to stay up so I can get my exercising in without any excuses. At least that is what I hope I can do. I am going to try real hard to do it. I did it today and if I keep going at it every day I am hoping it will become habit. from MO.

, A lot of this is like you said just habit. For the longest time I was in the habit of sleeping until 8:30 in the morning and then taking a nap in the afternoon for 3 hours. Then I realized what all I can accomplish in this time. I started getting up and staying up at 7 in the morning. And I completely cut out napping in the afternoon. It took a couple of weeks for me to adjust to it. I would be so sleepy mid afternoon it would be all I could do to keep my eyes open. But I found things to do like exercise:) and just stay going. After after 2 weeks It seemed I no longer needed the naps and now I wake at 6:00 every morning instead of 7 and even without a alarm clock. Your body adjusts to what you do. If you sleep for 10 hours a day then you will need 10 hours a day. If you get into the habit of sleeping 6 hours then thats what your body will need. Try staying awake each morning for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks I bet it will be so easy for you. Then you will have that time to fill. Make it "laura" time.

Yeah I think so. The thing is we are learning new lifestyle changes. But we haven't learned them good enough yet. I think when you reached the point where you can do this on auto pilot without thinking then that is when we can say we learned the new lifestyle and won't be in such a danger of slipping and regaining. It takes time and effort. When you live one way for many years of your life I think it will take a few years to retrain your body and your mind to the new lifestyle. Or at least that is the way I feel right now. I know what I should be doing and how I should be doing it but until we can actually do it and get our mind set properly we haven't learned the new lifestyle but are simply working toward it. Almost like a toddler knows to walk he puts one foot in front of the other but ain't no way he is ready to run just yet. Although he has the tools necessary to do it (his feet)and the knowledge to put one foot in front of the other at a faster pace. He has to be confident he isn't going to fall. After a while of attempts he will get more and more confidence and before you know it will be able to run and not have to concentrate so hard to do it. That's how it seems to me anyway. I have to take these small steps and gain my confidence and be on my guard that I'm not gonna slip and fall until I learn that I can do it and I can do it without such hard concentration to do so. At that time maybe then I can say I have learned a new lifestyle. Right now I feel like I'm still in Kindergarten with 12 more years of learning to get to that step. I only hope I can become a A-B Student along the way and Learn the new lifestyle without being held back along the way.

Yay good for you!! Sorry about my response, I hoped I wasn't too matter of fact LOL, I was just saying we all have the same amount of time, no matter what time we get up or go to bed. Two baths a day - go for it!! I do that, lots of folks do!!

WOOOOHOOOO.... like the gals say, we have two choices: do it or don't do it.... I try to choose DO more than DON'T

Keep up the good work,
