> whew - I caught up - didn't think it was ever going to happen!

The gals got really talkative here for a while.

>I've lost 9-10 pounds,

Pretty good! I know how stressful moving is, and trying to find healthy

foods to eat when pots and pans are packed is sometimes impossible.

> been told by the dermatologist that I'm alergic to the sun

Now *that* is weird! I know people with lupus get rashes from the sun, and I

know *I* break out in a rash if I stay out too long, but that's from my

Irish heritage, not an allergy. I don't tan - I get a little red then the

rash, almost a prickly heat.

> Both dr and derm. say wear long sleaves - ok I'd like to see them at 305

pounds on a 90+ day wearing long sleaves, give me a break.

I don't even wear *short* sleeves in summer! Sleeveless all the way, baby!

Let the flabby underarms fly!! LOL

>I've been to the doctor and my colesterol level is 150

Nice!

> however this time my triglicerites

You were close - triclycerides. I have my lab work done Thursay morning.

Last year my tri's were 205, 5 points above normal, but it goes up for

people who are actively losing weight (as the fat floats around the blood

stream before getting filtered out in the liver), people with diabetes, and

even those who just eat too much fruit. This is one of the reasons why I'm

limiting myself to just 2 fruits a day for the past few weeks until I get

the blood drawn. Last year I was eating about 4-6 pieces of fruit a day in

the weeks before the lab work, so that might have had something to do with

it. I'll find out next week when I see the doc for the results.

>I'm told I can go back to annual schedule WOOHOO!

Congrats!

>The last dr I need to see is the gyno - 2 periods in 4 weeks is unpleasant

LOL

I lived with it for years.

> on the plus side maybe I'm moving closer to menopause!

As long as you're over 30, it could be. Changes in your cycles start about

10 years before the *big* changes occur.

> I'm in a 'happy place' in my new apartment - I love my balcony

I miss having some place outside to sit. This is the first place we've lived

in where we *don't* have access to the yard, a balcony, or front porch.

> I hope to be posting regularly again!

Once those boxes get unpacked you'll find time. Welcome back!

*lol* I'm almost caught up now and I didn't think I'd ever get

there, either! :)

>So Since May 1 - we've moved, I've lost 9-10 pounds, <

, I am absolutely amazed--you moved AND lost weight while doing

it. I gained 20+ pounds in the two months surrounding our last

move. :P So GREAT job and congrats on the new digs :)

>been told by the dermatologist that I'm alergic to the sun - the

only time I've been in it for months is the 11 minute drive to work

and then 11 minutes back home - ugly rash! Both dr and derm. say wear

long sleaves - ok I'd like to see them at 305 pounds on a 90+ day

wearing long sleaves, give me a break. <

Okay, last year at Target I got a very lightweight (almost mesh) long

sleeved shirt that blocks 95% of the sun's rays ($12.99). It really

is comfy. It came in 1x-3x and maybe you could just throw it on when

you know you're going to be in the sun. It came in white, black, and

I think royal blue. I wear mine over my suit, but also over tank

tops and cami's and it looks pretty cute.

> After having to endure mamo 2x a year for the past 2 years - I'm

told I can go back to annual schedule WOOHOO! <

Yay! I haven't had one yet, but I've heard horror stories. *shudders*

Well, glad to hear you're getting settled and that things are going

well for you overall. :-) Congrats again on the weight loss!

thanks a bunch and I'll be peeking at Wal-Mart if they come in 3x for one or two of those shirts :) Congrats to both of us catching up - means our heads are int he right place and we're putting our health first <GBG>. The worst part of the mammo is throwing BOTH of them up there at once - for goodness sake - when did they start that! They are a lot less uncomfortable then they used to be (except for the afore mentioned 'double shot') - or maybe it's just because they sag so much more now LOL brgk44 <brgk44@...> wrote: *lol* I'm almost caught up now and I didn't think I'd ever get there, either! :) on the new digs :)Okay, last year at Target I got a very lightweight (almost mesh) long sleeved shirt that blocks 95% of the sun's rays ($12.99). whew - I caught up - didn't think it was ever going to happen! So Since May 1 - we've moved, I've lost 9-10 pounds, been told by the dermatologist that I'm alergic to the sun - the only time I've been in it for months is the 11 minute drive to work and then 11 minutes back home - ugly rash!

You know I have never been told I am allergic to the sun (probably because I never go to the dr untill im in extreme pain) but I think I am too. In the summer on the high UV days my arms ( and its only on my arms)will actually get big bumps all up and down on them and sting.....oh boy they sting. I have to cover them. Some times it is just by simply moving into the shaded area or pulling a visor on the car around to keep the sun off of them. But I do have to get that sun off. But as you said there is no way I could possible wear long sleeves. Some years is worse then others. So far this year I havent had a outbreak. One time going shopping my arm that had the sun shinning on it started to sting but i got it covered and it didn't get the big bumps on it. So far this year I'm having a good year.

Both dr and derm. say wear long sleaves - ok I'd like to see them at 305 pounds on a 90+ day wearing long sleaves, give me a break. I've been to the doctor and my colesterol level is 150 - mine are always in the 150's, however this time my triglicerites (can't say it - can't spell it LOL) are way high - this is a first and I freaked out.

[] yeah but how hot is it? I may try and check into getting one as I

could really use something like you said just to throw on while in the sun.

Mine seems to worse while riding in the car with the sun beaming in the

window.I may not need it anymore though as I have smartened up and keep me a

bottle of sunscreen in the car at all times and when it starts to get bad I

put it on and it helps a lot.

The solar veil fabric is actually pretty light

I wear it a lot when I am outside and I am not the most heat tolerant person!

I can't speak to the other since I havent seen it.

I also have several guaze shirts with at least 3/4 length sleeves and gauze pants that I will

wear when running errands. Not really something I would want to wear all day outside, but

ok from house, to car to store.

No noodle-swinging for a while - it's been way too hot and even *I'm* having trouble keeping up with the posts.
