IN THE SUMMERTIME

Baby, it`s hot outside, and it`s going to get even hotter! How many people try to lose weight before the summer comes so they`ll look nice in a bathing suit? How many of you have done that? What pressure, huh?

Being on program is hard during all of the four seasons, but especially summer! You have two demons to fight. The first one is the Picnic, Barbecue, Ice Cream Demon! Yes, everyone`s having a summer party, and everyone prides themselves on putting out a big spread of food, glorious food. So many side dishes… so little time! Look what`s on the grill – chicken, baby back ribs, steaks, hamburgers, bratwurst, and other summer barbecue-able animals. There`s potato salad, macaroni salad, and way over there behind the forks and napkins are the healthy mixed green salads that hardly ever get touched.

Even though it`s hot in the kitchen, that doesn`t stop anybody from baking pies, cakes, and chocolate chip cookies. Oh, and let us not forget about ice cream. Nothing cools you down better than cold, fall down your throat ice cream. And with over 100 flavors to choose from, you`ll never get bored, and you`ll never fit in those shorts in your closet!

The second demon is the Whining Workout Demon! Every day he whispers in your ear, "Oh, it`s so hot, so uncomfortably hot. All that heat has just drained all your energy, your poor thing. Oh, you can`t exercise! Are you crazy? You`ll have a heat stroke and pass out! Does your cat know how to dial 911?" And each morning, that demon convinces you to wait until, well… the summer`s over.

I would like to thank all the new members in the Clubhouse who are getting results and making motivational friends. So make time for this on MONDAY. We`ll be meeting at 5:15 PM PT, 6:15 PM MT, 7:15 PM CT, 8:15 PM ET, 2:15 AM (Tuesday morning) in Italy, and at 10:15 AM (Tuesday morning) in Australia! LOL! If you`re not a member yet, join us all and see the pounds drop off during this summertime!

How`s the 5 Pounds a Month Challenge going for you? This month is coming to an end very soon, so pick up the ball today and try to keep it in the air!
