LUCKY 7!

Do you think you`re lucky today because we`re in the 7th month of the year? Many say the number 7 is a lucky number, but luck will not be the reason you lose weight this month. It will be because you worked your buns off!

In May I challenged you to lose 5 pounds in the month. Let`s say you were 200 pounds at the beginning of May. If you lost 5 pounds in May and 5 pounds in June, you would be at 190 pounds, and if you lose 5 pounds here in July, you`ll be down to 185! If you keep this pace up for the rest of the year, you`ll be at 160 by New Year`s Eve day.

I know some of you have lost more than 5 pounds by kicking up your exercise time. T. from Tennessee told me she added 15 minutes extra to all her workouts. She walked 15 minutes more, and when she did my tapes, she rewound 3 of the cardio songs and did them again! told me she now loses more weight a week and plans to challenge her workouts again soon!

You know the 7th month is a lucky month for me because God let me live another year! I have a lot going on this month, and I know you will be busy, too.

Oh, and it will be hotter this month, but I don`t want any of you to whine about the heat. Here`s my advice. STAY OUT OF IT! Do your walking early in the morning or in the evening with a friend. If you belong to a gym, get there in your air conditioned car and work out. And if you`re doing videos at home, make sure the room you`re doing them in is well ventilated.

As far as the food goes, there will be no new foods on the picnic table, just the old standbys. Stay away from the fried foods. Don`t go near those gooey mayonnaise salads. Go for a mixed green instead. Watch your soda and diet soda consumption. Your body doesn`t need all that sugar and salt and those preservatives! Your body craves and lives on H2O.

So welcome to the month of July! Treat it well.
