I have been doing alot of thinking here lately about my weight loss situation. I started working really hard to get the weight off March 3rd and I was doing really good up until May 12th (when I got my house). I havent been back to the gym and I havent been eating right. I have ate out alot. Well this has to stop and stop right now. No matter what else I do in my life I have to get back to where I was before I got this house. I have to get back to the gym, I have to start eating right again and gettin my water in. The way I lost the weight before was working out everyday and taking Adipex (Appetite Suppressant) I still take the Adipex but I want to stop taking it for about a month so my body wont get ammuned to it and stop working, but to do that I have to step up my routine. I have to get back to eating only healthy things and going back to the gym everyday no matter how I feel. I have more excuses why I dont do this than Jimmy carter has liver pills. I mean Im for real. I have a treadmill in my house thats brand new I got for Christmas that is sitting here right behind me that I always say Im too tired to walk on it tonight. But the truth is Im just too lazy. I just need to stop talking myself out of it and just do it. Like I said before no matter how I feel. Thats how I lost the 38 pounds I have lost so far. My mini goal is to get to 300 pounds. I have 13 more pounds to go to get there and I will never get there if I dont work at it. So heres to a new day and a New lifestyle. Thanks for being there for me through good times and bad. You all are great.

Tina, you go, you have the right mind set to do this. You see where you have come from so far, and the house is very stressful for you right now, and the exercise alone might help with that stress and clear your mind even if just a little, it will be well worth the work out alone.

Personally I know when I get stressed, when I get anxious or angry a good work out helps me put things in a better perspective and I see things a bit clearer or even differently and able to move on and help solve this just abit.

I for one are rooting for you.

Hang in there Tina. Buying a house is one of the major life-changing stressors that people go through. Along with marriage/divorce/having kids/new jobs, etc... I think you have done well with what you have been dealt, especially considering the on-going plumbing issues. Eating out doesn't have to be a license to derail your eating for the day. Remember most restaurants, as well as fast food joints, have healthier choices nowdays. Go for the non-fried versions of things, less bread, etc. Don't eat the whole thing if the portion is huge. Try to get your water in each day. Also, try to get back on track with the gym. I know the packing, moving and unpacking, painting, etc gave you "exercise" since you were moving your body during all of that, so it can't be as bad as it is looking to you. Hopefully the scale is/was nice to you, since we tend to look to that number for validation that we are doing a good job. Remember you could be losing inches instead of lbs so take measurements if you can to guage changes in that way.

GREAT JOB~

Tina you can do it. Why not start a new journal? Accountability is key. I have been journaling more and it is so helpful.

My doctor tried to put me on that (phentermine), I did some research on the net and thought long and hard and I threw them pills away.I dont know how much you weigh or I could help you figure out how many calories you need.

You need to really think about taking that pill, my doctor took it and when she got down to her goal weight she stopped taking the pills and gained her weight back. So I am glad I threw them in the trash can. Jana

Been Thinking

I have been thinking alot here lately about my weight loss. I have lost almost 50 pounds but this past week I gained 2.25 pounds and Im not happy about it but Im not going to give up either. But I have been thinking. When I lost weight back in 2002 I was counting calories and working out every night. Well this time Im taking Adipex and watching what I eat. But Im thinking about taking the Adipex, counting calories and working out everyday again. Cuz If Im doing this good with just the Adipex and watching what I eat just think how much better I would be doing if I was counting calories again. Everyones input would be good. How many calories should I start out with and everything like that. Please help everyone.

Hi Tina,

First of all, great job with 50 lbs lost!! I wouldn't freak about a 2 lb gain - could be TOM or retention? I would say "counting calories" helps us to be mindful of what we are putting into our bodies. I know since I have been writing things down and "counting" them, I am more selective on how I want to spend those calories LOL!! Did you look at sparkpeople site to see what they recommend for calories for your height/weight, etc?
