DON`T DESERVE IT?

On my Cruise to Lose in 1994, I met a lady that I immediately clicked with. She was funny, smart, and had beautiful lips, and she was suffering from a weight problem. Over the years, she`s been on several cruises, her last one being this past cruise. She looked just about the same weight she was in 1994. We don`t have to speak words with each other about her weight. We both know she has not yet gotten the formula down pat. She starts, she stops, she loses, she gains. You know the whole scenario.

On the cruise, she did very well. We worked out every day, and she ate the best she could and lost a few pounds. Then when she went back home, she didn`t continue to make the time to take good care of herself like she did on the ship.

Well, last Sunday, I had her on my radio show. I told her I loved her and was worried about her. She told me she was worried about her, too. On the show, she discussed her life and how many of her family women role models suffered with weight problems, too.

I asked her after all her years of trying to lose weight why hadn`t she completed this project, and her answer was, "I don`t think I deserve it." Oh, I told her she was very wrong! I asked her why she doesn`t think she deserves to be healthy, and that question, she couldn`t answer. Well, I gave her an earful of why I thought she so deserved everything she wanted in life, including being trim.

Do you feel the same way about yourself, like my friend does? Did someone say things to you that took away that spark out of your heart? I`m sorry, but you have to understand that people say things without thinking. You must try hard to forget their words that hurt you so and begin to believe in yourself again! When you have that belief, everything is possible, including a surge of self-worth.

Every time you look at yourself in the mirror today, say to yourself, "I deserve to be the happiest and healthiest person on this planet," and I couldn`t agree with you more!

Love,
