FEEL WEAK?

Are your muscles toned, or are they weak? Today`s message is about toning.

Now don`t do that strange little thing with your mouth! I have preached and

preached to you that doing cardio, walking, and stretching is not enough.

You must also keep all the muscles in your anatomy pumped up and feeling

good, too.

I had a terrible experience about lifting weights the first time. I tried to

impress others, and I acted like I knew what I was doing. Well, I didn`t,

and I hurt myself. For a long time, I stayed away from any form of toning.

When I lost all my weight, I was happy to reach my goal, but I was sad when

I looked in the mirror and saw sag where muscle should be. I went and bought

some books on strength training and thought I would educate myself about

toning my muscles before I lifted anything again!

From the very beginning, I offered toning classes at Slimmons. Over the

years, I have used toning cords, toning rings, and free weights with my

videos and DVDs. I lift weights 45 minutes 3 times a week. I always stretch

before I start and do both endurance training with light weights and

strength training with heavier weights. While I am lifting, I always focus

in on the muscles I am working on – my chest, lats, delts, shoulders,

biceps, and triceps. I tell myself how great my muscles will feel after the

workout, and you know, they do!

In just 6 weeks, you will see the definition in your muscles! You will also

have a surge of body energy. You know you burn calories when you do cardio.

Guess what? When your muscles are toned and you take an aerobics class, you

burn more calories during the workout! Let that, too, be an incentive for

you.

I would suggest you combine one of my 30-minute toning workouts with a

30-minute Blast Off class. Please drink your water before, during, and after

lifting, and do what I do. Once I`m finished, I lie across the bed and give

my muscles a little nap!
