Hurray!!!! I hit 50 lbs at home 2 weeks earlier, but it was nice to finally announce it and get the magnet. Congrats Angel!! I can't wait to hit 50 lbs!! You go girl!! I was expecting a bit more than that, actually, but I think it was about the group of people there than the trinket. (Maybe.) I don't think I've gone to that group before and so they weren't that excited for me like some of the other groups I attend more regularly would be (will be). I have to get to one of those other groups this coming week so I can share it there. Some groups get so into their group, so if you were "an outsider" could be the reason why.... the regulars where you normally go will be happy for you, I am sure!! Can't believe I have lost 50 lbs in exactly 5 months. Woot!! Can I make 100 in 10 months?? I hope so! I'm going to try, but my goal is to get to 100 lbs gone in one year, so I have some leeway. Don't get yourself too stuck on a date. You can do it, sure, but if it goes a month past, it won't be the end of the world. Keep up the great work, though!! I've been bringing my own snacks - nuts, fruit roll ups, granola bars, and fruit cups, and then we get chicken burgers, which are just 3 oz.(approx.) chicken filets (unprocessed) grilled with veggies on top. I had mine with cheese last night, but only ate half the bun. That came out to 5.5 points. DH gets the frozen custard, which I love, and I managed to restrain myself to 2 bites of it, which is probably 1-2 points, but worth it. That's great, Angel... good idea!! I guess my personal reward for the 50 lbs has been garden tools - new shovel, and a Garden Weasel, and a few annual flowers to put in the garden. I got some Lobelia (ground cover blue flowers), hot pink Geraniums, colorful Coleus, Snapdragons, and something else similar to Petunias. I think I'll get some more flowers when I get to 60 lbs. Money is super tight now so it's hard to justify spending much money even thought I've earned it. Oh, and I also got a few pieces of clothing for the current size or almost there size (about 22s - 1X pants and L tops). My mom bought me 3 new bathing suits, too - not sure which sizes, but I told her 22's and 20's. I wear a bathing suit when I exercise at home in the living room. That's great. That's how I justify getting new stuff for myself also "rewards" for losing certain amount of pounds. I probably won't get more clothes now for myself until fall and/or hitting 50-60 lbs loss. So anyhow, good progress here. It is taking committment and focus and not dropping my guard when I'm tempted. I can have a little bit of splurge (like the 2 bites of frozen custard), but have to have willpower to stop and not eat it all.Sending you all willpower and strength in the journey! Thanks for the willpower and strength!! Great progress and excellent committment and focus!! Keep it up over the summer and you will be trimmer for fall/winter, for sure!! That's within the 2-3 pounds loss range suggested by all the diet gurus. Looks like you found the perfect food & exercise plan for your body. > Woot!! Can I make 100 in 10 months?? I hope so! Don;t be surprised if you do hit a plateau that lasts a few weeks. Just hang in there with the food and bump the exercise up a bit and things should start flowing again. *Everyone* hits a plateau - it's what our bodies do and can't really be avoided. >What annoys me about my body right now is that my > stomach is actually bigger than my butt. Do you go to a gym? If so, maybe a visit with a trainer can help and he/she can recommend certain exercises to do to firm up the abdominal muscles so you look a bit trimmer. Unfortunately, we can't really control where the fat goes when it comes on or which will leave first when we're losing it, we can only strengthen the muscles under the fat so we appear to be a different shape. >I've been bringing my own > snacks - nuts, fruit roll ups, granola bars, and fruit cups, That's the only way to guarantee having healthy foods around. > So anyhow, good progress here. Sure is! Keep up the great work! Sue in NJ

Right now, I have gold stars with "5" written on them for each 5 lbs I have lost. The charms idea sounds cool though. I hope things go ok with dh about joining WW... Guest guest
HI !! Thank you for the response. Other than this list, almost no one responded to me so I appreciate it! It feels great, as you will see yourself when you get here! I have no doubt that you will, too! I agree, it's hard to make it to 100 in 10 months, let alone 12 months, but I think it's possible. I am not going to give up if it takes longer, though. I know that I'm healthier now and I feel so much better - more energetic and just overall healthy. Guest guest
Hi Sue!! Thank you also for the response. I'm glad people here responded to me!! About the magnets - they give you them at WW for 25, 50, 75, and 100 lbs. Yes, I'm doing about 2-3 lbs a week, but some weeks it's only .5 or 1 and then I'll drop 4 in a week. It's irregular. I just had a 2 week plateau and then a big drop finally. I think that might be due to dropping my points down and my body not quite ready for it.. not sure. I think it may have adjusted now. No, I can't afford a gym. I work out at home with tv fitness shows - Gilad and Austin and sometimes Sharon Mann's " In Shape " or " All Star Workouts " . I also like " Inhale " with Steve Ross, which is a high intensity yoga workout. I am now doing some focused waist and lower abdominal exercises. They are really hard for me so I think I had been neglecting the lower abs in the first 4.5 months. Not anymore! Guest guest
> HI !! > Thank you for the response. Other than this list, almost no one responded > to me so I appreciate it! No Problem, Thats what we are here for. Actually there are a lot of members here but only a handful post on a regular basis. (hint hint....for those of you who are shy about posting:)) The way I see it is what use is there in joining a support group if you don't take advantage of it. > It feels great, as you will see yourself when you get here! I have no > doubt that you will, too! Yes, I truly think I will. It's just sometimes I want it to happen faster then it should:) I guess not only am I going to learn a better and healthier lifestyle but I will learn patience too:) > I agree, it's hard to make it to 100 in 10 months, let alone 12 months, > but I think it's possible. I am not going to give up if it takes longer, > though. I do hope you make it. I wish I could but I know that is a goal I'm not strong enough to do. My main goal is really just seeing weight loss. As long as I keep seeing something I'll be happy. I tend to stick on the same 3 pounds over and over again though. > I agree, it's hard to make it to 100 in 10 months, let alone 12 months, > but I think it's possible. Oh I'm sure it is possible but very difficult. You may have already told us but sorry i have forgotten. Are you on any special eating plan or are you just trying to eat healthier? >I am not going to give up if it takes longer, > though. It's such a cool perk that my > body LOOKS better, too!! Oh I agree completely. As I have said I have lost 20 pounds all total and I fell sooooo much better then I did before. Now I can walk and go up stairs that would have wiped me out before. My feet and legs don't hurt like they used too. My goodness...if 20 pounds difference feels this good I can't wait to lose to that 50 pound mark!

If *I* ever hit a 50 pound loss I think I would drop dead of the shock! LOL Nah, I keed, I keed, as Triumph the Insult Comic Dog says. I *did* lose that 45 pounds a few years back, but plateaued at 4 months and started regaining immediately, even while still on the low calories. I'm hoping that either when I'm *post* menopause and fix the thyroid if it needs fixing I can start losing again. At least I'm back within spitting distance of 270 again.
