Hi everyone, I will give a quick intro to those who don't know me. I'm 31 years old have 2 girls ages 12 and 9 and husband been together will be 14 years in Oct. We are originally from Mass but moved to SC 4 years ago. I have been MIA alot lately due to work. Well I am out of work for a couple of weeks.. hopefully throughout the summer due to surgery I need to have which will be done either the end of June or begining of July. So I will have alot of time on my hands. I am going to take this time to get myself and kids into better shape they are starting to get chunky. As well as trying to get my house into better shape following flylady. We have been looking at houses to buy but finacially right now are not able to so hopefully by the winter we can start looking again. But before then I want to have my whole house decluttered. I went to the Dr yesterday and am at my highest weight I have ever been 330.5 so today starts day 1 of being accountable for myself and my kids. My plan is to try and get as much exercise as possible. This morning we went for a short walk.. 15 mins we went about half way around the block then back home.. I thought I was gonna die.. I plan on doing 2 15 mins walks a day and work my way up. One in the morning before it gets to hot and one about 730ish when the sun starts to go down. Second I am going to try to get in my water. I have some 16 oz bottles I am going to try to drink atleast 6 of those a day. Maybe start out with 3 and work my way up. As for eating wise, we are going to be on a tight budget. I am going to get 75% of my pay with my short term disability from work so I will be getting paid atleast something but will just have to buy whats on sale and just try and make better choices and watch

portion sizes. Last I am going to post to the group atleast once a day. I need to ...it helps to be accountable. If you got this far thanks for reading. I may not have posted much but I did read everyday and it makes me believe that I can do this.. __________________________________________________

Hi ! We're the same age :) I hope your surgery goes well. Will

you be able to exercise after it's done?

my whole house decluttered.

Oh my gosh. A decluttered house...with children? *giggles* I'm

sorry, it's just that my house pretty much always looks like a tornado

just ripped through and I swear it's because of the kids. (that's my

story and I'm stickin' to it!)

My highest was 338 last June, though now thinking about it, I might

have gotten a smidge higher while pregnant (was on full bedrest and

depressed...not a good combo for an emotional eater). Anyway, what

got me going on my journey was trying on size 28 jeans at Lane

last September and not being able to button them. I could have cried

in the dressing room. Instead, I bought the jeans and swore I'd fit

into them within a month or two and set out to exercise and eat better.

I think that's the best plan, anyway--to learn to make better choices

and watch portions. Anything too drastic is difficult to stick to. I

worked on one thing at a time. First, exercising 6 days a week.

Then, drinking more water. Then, journaling my food and setting

calorie 'goals' for each day. Then more fruits and veggies, etc.

I believe we all can do this! It sure helps to have a support group

like this, though. Most people can't comprehend the obstacles ahead

of us. Here, there's never been a time when I've felt like I was the

only one to go through something. At one point or another, someone

else has gone through the same thing. It's just good to know we're

not alone.
