Guest guest
Hi, I was very irritated that Junonia didn't process my swimsuit order and now everything is out of stock until late August. They run out of stock every summer. Seems like they'd have a clue by now. They have great quality suits but terrible inventory management. I found a swimsuit top on Lands End.com overstocks so I decided to give it a try. It arrived today and I love it! I like the high back to keep my back from getting sunburned and I like the high front to keep my..... well..... girls in place. I don't want them flopping about. Their swimsuits go up to 26W but they seem to run a bit small. I'm 235, 5'2 " with a big chest and the 26W fits me perfectly. I'll wear the blue top with some black men's swim shorts that I bought at Walmart a couple of years ago. Tomorrow my 6 year old and I will go swimming with our best friends. Should be fun. The pools in their area have little slides and spraying water and stuff. On Sat. we'll take the kids to the new Schlitterbahn water park in Galveston, TX. That should be awesome! After the water park we'll visit an offshore oil rig that is now a museum. I thought that would be a good thing to do before I start my new job on Monday since I'm going to have to become an oil rig expert. I love playing in the water and my old swimsuit is too big! Guest guest
It is downright extortion what they charge for swimsuits - especially plus-size ones! But I have to say, a really good one is a good investment. I bought a MiracleSuit in late spring. It was SO much more attractive than my older, inexpensive suit, and I felt so much better wearing it. Feeling better about how you look in your swimsuit means you are more likely to actually go GET IN the pool! And that, to me, is what makes a better swimsuit worth the extra money. If things are tight, ask your husband or other loved ones to make the swimsuit your Christmas present. Or even to give you a gift card or cash to help pay for it! And when the new suits hit the stores in the spring, shop around and try on LOTS of styles so you can see what looks best on you. They look SO much different on your body than they do on the hanger, you just never know when a suit that looks blah on the hanger might really flatter your body! > > > I have done some more researching on the water aerobics class. Guest guest
Thanks for some really useful comments. My mother was doing water aerobics before she moved into Assisted Living a couple months ago, and she LOVED it. It's across town now from her new apartment and they do have exercise classes at " the home " , (her term, not mine). I know it will be fine once I get started, I'm just using the suit issue as a delaying tactic, I think. I *will* be checking more on it this weekend. Guest guest
Just a quick word of advice on the swimsuit, especially for water aerobics... I bought one a year or so ago so that I could start doing water aerobics and it seemed to be perfect. Then, I got in the water. Although I'm plus-sized, I'm not too big on the top. With all the moving around, my shoulder straps kept coming off. It was SOO annoying. You might want to try something that either ties around the neck or has straps that cross on your back. Good luck! Guest guest
I have had the same experiences with finding a swimsuit. I hate having to go in and try them on...none of them look good. Last summer I went into Dillards and ended up forking out $130.00 for one of those bad boys...hey I figure that its something that is figure flattering and something I can wear for a few years. Its all black, so It will be in style for many years. I actually have to try it on again...I have lost alot since I bought it last year. Hopefully it will not be too big. But It's well worth the price to feel good about yourself in a swimsuit. > > > > > I have done some more researching on the water aerobics class. Guest guest
Twinmom-how exciting to be *almost* in a 16!! I bet that when it is time to wear them in the late spring/summer it will fit you perfectly!! I did the same thing last summer when K-Mart was closing out some summer skirts. They had a really pretty one in a size 20 and I bought it (wearing 24s right now)... well I think I will be there because my 24 jeans are getting baggier on me :-) Yippie for all of us and smaller sizes. Guest guest
I've gone down 3 sizes now and the feeling never gets old. Over the years when I was dieting, I always thought it would be a good idea to buy a slim size of jeans and hang them on the fridge. Now I'm thinking that it would be a better idea to hang the size 24 jeans on the fridge because that's what could be waiting inside for me every time I open it... Guest guest
Yeah! You should totally be able to wear a 20 skirt by summer! Try it on even if you are still in 22 jeans by then, because a skirt usually fits a little better than jeans. I could get in 18 skirts and slacks several pounds before 18 jeans. Guest guest
That's fantastick!!! WTG Live, Love, Laugh swimsuits I bought a swimsuit at the end-of-season late last summer in a size that was too small for me, because I was hoping to reach that size before the swimsuits came out again in the spring. (I didn't know they'd start coming out in January.) Anyway, I bought a size 16. I tried it on the other day, and it is only a little bit too tight! I had no idea what it would look like ON, because I would have ripped a seam if I had tried it on in July. I don't honestly LOVE the suit, but it was the best I could find in a 16 in wheat they had left on the racks in July - which was NOT MUCH! But I am loving that it just about fits!!!! I'm not bulging out of it or anything - it's just still a little too tight across the belly, mostly because it has one of those wrap-style fronts. I'm REALLY happy about this - because my old suit is a size 22!!!! I can wear it a little bit longer, until the 16 looks really right, but this is super cool! I don't think I have worn a size 16 swimsuit since I WAS 16, and back then I was too self-conscious to go out in a swimsuit at all. Now, I feel free enough to have spent the last several years going swimming in a size 22 - so a 16 is a piece of cake!!!! Twinmom ..

That's definitely an idea. I was going to say for when we get to goal, but I think you are right - keeps you on track. Wish I had kept my larger clothes, but I wanted them gone! No chance to get back into them.
