Guest guest
http://richardsimmons.com/messageoftheday.php 's Daily Message Friday April 14, 2006 EMOTION COMMOTION " Running high, running low. " Wherever your emotions are, food is not far behind. T. is going through a divorce, and her ex-husband to be is playing all kinds of head trips on her. He told her she was fat and ugly and that he has stayed with her all these years because he felt sorry for her. felt so low and turned to food to handle her sorrow. At 279 pounds, she writes to me to see if I can help. Ken L. practically lived at the hospital so he could spend as much time as possible with his father, who didn`t have too much time left. For 7 months, he practically ate all his meals in the hospital cafeteria and lived off hamburgers, club sandwiches, and mac and cheese. Ken put on 62 pounds. Since his father`s death several months ago, he has put on another 20. He writes to me to see my take on the whole situation. Now Candace A. has a different weight gain story to tell. Candace worked for a law firm for 11 years. She decided to make a change and went to real estate school. After passing the test, she went to work for an agency not too far from her home. Within 2-and-a-half years, she was making more money than she ever made before! Candace began to celebrate. She started taking her clients out to fancy restaurants, and in 2-and-a-half years, she put on 80 pounds. She wrote and wanted some advice, too. I tell them what I tell you! We are all emotional human beings. Some of us outwardly show it more than others. We are faced with sometimes hundreds of emotions each day. Some of the emotions are happy, while others are very sad, but one thing we really have to know is that food isn`t going to make you any happier, and food isn`t going to take your sadness away. When you are experiencing an emotion that is causing you commotion, don`t go to the kitchen or hop in the car to drive to " Fast Food Boulevard. " No, no, no! Go and take a walk and do some thinking. If you need to go, visit or call your best friend, your sister, or your mother and let him or her help you to get through whatever you`re going through. Please take care of yourself mentally and physically this weekend! Love,
