Guest guest
's Daily MessageSaturdayApril 15, 2006 UPPING THE SWEAT I meet a lot of people walking through the airport to catch my planes to somewhere. Last week, a lady stopped me at the airport in Minnesota to tell me her successful weight loss story. "This was me, , at 340 pounds." And there was her "before" picture laminated and hanging from her key chain. "I tried everything and was even contemplating weight loss surgery, but I decided not to go that route and did it the right way. At first, I could only do 10 minutes of one of your tapes, and now I do an hour of aerobics with ease! I`ve now lost 160 pounds, and there`s nothing I can`t do!" In the Chicago airport, I met a gentleman at the American Airlines ticket counter. ", very nice meeting you! Do you have a minute?" And the moment I said yes, he pulled out his wallet and removed his old driver`s license. "This is what I used to look like. I was 460 pounds. I had borderline diabetes, high blood pressure, and a cholesterol of almost 400. My doctor told me to do or die – do something about it or die. That day, I cleaned out my kitchen of all my enabler foods. I went to the supermarket and bought the healthy stuff. I began walking. Every week, I tried to walk a few extra minutes a day. In 7 months, I was walking 4 miles a day! After my first hundred pound weight loss, I joined a gym and began kickboxing and lifting weights. When I lost my second hundred pounds, I started to run, and now I do marathons! I work out two-and-a-half hours a day and have maintained my weight of 210 for 3 years!" So what was their secret of losing a whole lot of weight? Yes, MOVEMENT! Recent medical studies have shown that the more weight you have to lose, the more exercise you have to do. If you have to lose a hundred or more pounds, you should be working out 60-90 minutes 6-7 days a week. If you are serious about creating a healthier you, start to up your sweat, and you, too… will one day run a marathon! Love,
