Um, hold on, I'll find a link on Amazon: http://tinyurl.com/rucst (it was huge, had to tiny url it) Anyway... This book has been wonderful for me. It's small--fits in my purse. It's easy to look stuff up, and it has entire sections on fruits, veggies, meats, etc. Also has generic restaurant food (for example, " Italian " --then it lists several popular dishes and their approximate counts). It also has a big section with popular restaurants and often times, a good portion of their menu with all the calorie counts. I use it almost daily (not for the fast food, but for fruits and veggies). Just something to think about! There's rarely a place I wind up going that isn't in there. You know what I just remembered something. The diabetic clinic gave me a pamplet. It is not small enough to fit into my purse though, but it has a lot of Fast Food places in it and gives the carbs, fiber, calories and fat and a couple of other things I think. I need to hunt for what I did with that. I don't know how up to date it is though. I don't know if it would have all the newer foods. Of course if I go to a real restaurant (don't think of fast food places as real for some reason. LOL) I wouldn't have the info on them. Many restaurants still offer " Atkins Friendly " meals. Or, some offer Weight Watchers Points meals - of the latter, just look for one with no rice, potatoes, etc - or ask to have that switched with steamed veggies w/ some butter. Basically anything steamed, baked (without breading), broiled, pan-seered, etc. will be OK as long as you avoid the rice, potatoes, bread, fried foods etc. Also watch out for sauces and ask what's in them (Avoid sugar, obviously, teriyaki, and fruit juices). And WATCH PORTIONS. Remember that note from , about restaurant portion sizes? Consider splitting a meal with your husband (Just think, you could go to TGI Fridays and split an entree and probably spend as much as you would for a couple of meals at McD's) or ask for a to-go box and IMMEDIATELY put at least 1/2 to 2/3s away for another day(s).
