LOOKING YOUR BEST?

Getting ready for school was quite an ordeal when I was growing up. I had to look perfect before I left the house to go to school. I had to be pristine from head to toe! I took a shower in the morning and washed my hair. After brushing my teeth, I would start the process of putting on my school ensemble of khaki, khaki, and khaki. I buffed up my brown Stride Right shoes, put on my matching belt, and I was ready to go! My father would always look me up and down to see if I was presentable to the world.

Those good grooming habits have stuck with me all these years! Even when I was at my highest weight, I always looked my best, and today, I am always camera ready from 6:00 in the morning till bedtime.

I always talk to you about taking care of yourself on the inside, but this message is addressing your outside. No, you can`t judge a book by its cover, but when the cover looks nice, you are drawn to it. You know, I am a people watcher, and the best place to do this is in an airport. I have been noticing that a lot of people look like they need some classes at a finishing school. Do you need some classes, too?

Let`s start with your hair. Do you have "Wash and I Don't Care" hair? Go get a haircut or hairstyle and learn to keep your hair looking nice, and if there is some gray, well… wash it away! How is your skin? Are you moisturizing your face, hands, and body? Are you taking care of your choppers? Do you brush, floss, and rinse? And how about your clothes? Are you wearing the same few outfits over and over again? Maybe it`s time to clean your closet out this month and say goodbye to some outdated standbys! Are you dressing in sad colors or happy ones? And do you groom your attitude? You know, do you give yourself some affirmations that will start your day in a positive way?

I do hope you are looking good today and trying your best with your food and workout! How did you do last week? Well, here it is the first day of the week. I do hope you see great results this week! Remember your 5 Pounds a Month Weight Loss Challenge!
