Guest guest
Bonnie, thank you for sharing the link. That sounds like a totally sound theory. I read that 'starvation' diets don't work because your body gets wise to it & starts holding on to fat instead of letting it go. Extreme, yes, but similar concept. -Jax Bonnie wrote: It's not a crash diet or anything like that, it's simply a modified WWsystem where you vary your calorie intake every day in order to keepyour body guessing. Looking back overthe last 3 months' worth of journaling, I see that I was within100-200 calories every single day, with the exception of a couple days"off". Guest guest
Okay, so this plateau is really bothering me. This morning I decided to try the " Wendie Plan " for two weeks and see if it helps me to break through this plateau. If you're curious, you can read about it here: http://groups.msn.com/POINTingMyWaytoaNewLife/theoriginalwendieplan.msnw It's not a crash diet or anything like that, it's simply a modified WW system where you vary your calorie intake every day in order to keep your body guessing. Anyway, if this doesn't work, I'm just going to stick to what I'm doing and hang in there. I suppose there are worse things than staying at a size 20! :-) As long as I'm active, I'm happy, so...it'll all work out. -Bonnie
Guest guest
That's interesting, thanks for sharing. I think that's why with the Curves thing, they recommend doing like 1200-1400 calories for a week, then increasing, then increasing more, then decreasing. Same concept. Just starting to make sense. I have been following their "Phase 1" which is he week with the lowest calories, then for 4-5 weeks in theory, you do Phase 2... unless you hit a plateau and then you increase more, before dropping. As of this a.m., I had released 2 lbs so far this week :-D

I have never heard of this plan before but in a way it does kinda make sense to do that so the body don't get adjusted to a set amount of calories.I have never done weight watchers before though so all the point talk didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I know the points translate into calories some way. Anyway, if this doesn't work, I'm just going to stick to what I'mdoing and hang in there. I think you will eventually start to lose again which ever path you chose to take. I finally started to move again...slowly but it will come back down for you too soon. Guest guest
Do you want the online calculators to figure out points? There are several free ones out there. Basically points are based on calories, fat, and fiber. The higher fiber the lower the points, in general. Higher fat increases the points, but basically approx. every 50 calories is one point. I tried the Wendie plan early on my WW journey, but I found the day after the super high points day was awful. I was so hungry then and craving sugar and the higher fat that I'd had the day before. I also felt sick from having so many more points that one day than normal. It is a good plan if you go out to dinner once a week, though. If you can resist the cravings the day after your super high points and fill up on salad and fruit then you might be able to do it ok. Good luck!! ~Angel 301/251/175 On Wed, 31 May 2006, wrote: > > Okay, so this plateau is really bothering me. There are several free ones out there.I was looking for something to help me learn the food mover. I seen a calculator once for that purpose but never could figure out how to use it. Sue told me the master cook will help you figuree out the exchanges. I don't remember it doing it when I had it on my computer before. I'm trying to find it on this thing I call a desk here but so far it has hid pretty good from me. Basically points are based on calories, fat, and fiber. Guest guest
I have all my old WW literature from 3 years ago, including a points calculator and stuff, but thanks for telling me about the websites! I thought today would be really hard (day after " super high day " ), but it's been a breeze. Could be a fluke, could be that my body is adjusting to the new calories levels, I don't know...but I'm fine today. I'm really just using the " Wendie plan " to get the scale to move again, then I'll go back to the way I was doing things before. I'm perfectly happy with a .5-1 pound/week weight loss at this point. I just want to see it move *some* with all the exercise I've been doing, darn it -Bonnie > I tried the Wendie plan early on my WW journey, but I found the day after > the super high points day was awful. Guest guest
What is the Wendie Plan? I see you all keep talking about it. Re: My new plan Do you want the online calculators to figure out points? Guest guest
Bonnie, Glad to hear that your day after super-high day went well! That was the hardest one for me, but I would definitely try the Wendie plan again if (when) I hit another plateau.
