Guest guest
's Daily MessageWednesdayMay 24, 2006 I HATE MY BODY! Well, that`s a nice way to begin a letter, isn`t it? That`s how Margaret from Georgia started out... ", I hate my body and I don`t want to live in it, anymore. I once had a nice shape and men actually used to whistle at me when I walked down the street. I was always a smart dresser and during my lunch hour from work, I would walk to my favorite clothing store around the corner and try on outfits. I used to look at myself in the mirror and liked what I saw. Now my shape resembles a piece of fruit, a juicy apple. Every part of me is round. When I go walking, people just stare at me. I can almost hear them thinking, `Oh, poor thing`. I haven`t been clothes shopping in a long time. I buy my wardrobe online, usually anything in dark colors that I think will hide my fat. I removed most of the mirrors in my apartment because I don`t want to look at me. But I guess this is how I will look until the day I die." "Margaret`s is such a sad letter, isn`t it? Do you find yourself hating your body, the way she does? I hope not. Self-hatred is a sin. It really is. You can`t hate your body. I mean, what did your body do, after all? Nothing but expand and, let`s face it, that expansion was all caused by you, you...you. You put the food into your mouth. You kept overeating. You are the one who raided the fridge at all hours of the night. Your present body came along because, well...it had to. Margaret is not a hopeless case and neither are you. So, where do you start? Easy. Begin by loving your body, instead of hating it. Today, sit down and make a list of the foods you are overeating and causing you to be overweight. What would be on your list? Donuts? Designer coffee drinks? Breakfast sandwiches? Candy, cookies, cakes, hamburgers, hot dogs, fries and onion rings, potato chips and Doritos? (You get the picture.) Now, look at your list and make up your mind to change the way you`re eating, immediately. Along with regular exercise, before you know it, your shape will no longer resemble a piece of fruit. You`ll get to enjoy wearing nice clothes again and you`ll want to put the mirrors back up in your house, too. That`s because you`ll be looking at your body and yourself with love and delight!
