Guest guest
http://richardsimmons.com/messageoftheday.php 's Daily MessageFridayJune 09, 2006 THE BUS FULL OF LOVE Several weeks ago, I received a big envelope from Middle School in Westminster, CA. In the envelope was a very sweet letter from a lady named . She told me she was a teacher at this school for physically and mentally challenged kids. Part of their daily routine is exercising to one of my tapes. said they love the tape and have most of my moves memorized. I was so excited to hear about them that I asked to bring them all to Slimmons for a class, and you know what? She took me up on it! This week, a big yellow school bus found its way to the front door of Slimmons. It was a bus full of love! I ran into the bus and said hello to everyone. There were about 15 students, many of their parents, and all the teachers from the school. I brought them all in the studio and introduced them to all the people who were there to take class. It would be hard for me to describe the feeling in the room. Let`s just say it was magical. One of the boys came up to me with a huge smile on his face and said, "Mr. , let`s exercise! You can do it! I believe in you!" And I did just what he asked and put the music on. Well, what can I say but that it was hard for me to hold back my emotions as the children began dancing. I was amazed at how many of the moves they had memorized. My students were having a ball, too, and as I looked around the room, I watched my students standing next to the kids helping them out and dancing with them! The parents and teachers joined in, too, and were having a great time. After our cardio, we did toning and ab work. Then we all sat down and talked about our class. Then I closed the workout with a prayer. The same little boy who told me to start class came up to me and said, "You really did your best! I`m proud of you, and remember Mr. ; never give up!" He even remembered all the things I said on my tapes! I watched as the big yellow bus drove away from the studio. I got in my car, put my head in my hands, and cried tears of joy. God, it`s nights like these that I know why you let me open Slimmons. Love,
