Like I said my feet hurt. Which is a good thing I think. Ooooooh owie, sorry to hear it. I don't like when my feet hurt from a lot of walking... I went walking today with hubby at the mall. It was too humid to go walking across the street at the track. Well, any way, if my step meter thing is right I walked about 2.23 miles today. That's great ! You go girl!! I don't know if those things really tell the truth, but that is what mine said today, and that is really really good for me. All I know is that my feet are hurting tonight. I don't think I could have done much more walking. Unless you are out to beat records, total accuracy isn't relevant.... just gives you an idea LOL of how you are doing each day.... don't stress it. Unfortunately my eating didn't go as well as my walking. I did the Slim Shake for breakfast, but forgot to drink one before I went to the mall. Well, after we walked around some we got hungry for lunch and the food court just has so much good looking food. I didn't order well. Ended up getting this huge piece of pizza and a little bowl of pasta salad and a diet dr. pepper. At least I did the diet dr. pepper right. Yeah, but I would make sure you have a snak or something... protein or something before your exercising so you don't drop too quickly. Well, then we walked around some more, before I got thirsty. Do you have water bottles you can take with you when you are walking so you don't have to find a place? They even have those hip pack things that hold water bottles now... Well we went to go get a drink when my husband sees Dairy Queen and suggests a Blizzard. Well, I could have let him get one and I just get a drink, but no I had to have one too. So I guess that just blows all my walking I did today out of the water. Don't know without figuring it out on spark people or something: calories in vs calories out..... If ever I can get my eating under control and get my exercise going all in the same time zone then I will be doing pretty good again. You are still doing great. One day at a time. I remember some one in here talking about watching what thin people eat. As I was eating my big giant piece of pizza today I saw some really thin ladies coming by with their meals and they both had happy meals from Mcs. Smaller portions is the key right? So I am going to try and start looking at what every thin person I see is eating and then try to get my foods to go along those lines. It will take time. Rome wasn't built in a day right? Exactly. Smaller portions, exercise, water. 3 good keys. Oh by the way, my sister is having WLS June 19th. She is going to get the family together soon and talk about all the changes there will be. I am interested to see what all she has to say. She went this week to Oklahoma City where she will have the surgery and had a bunch of meetings about it. I talked to her husband today and he said that there were going to be a really lot of changes that are going to have to be made. This might turn out to be good for me too. If the whole family is behind her, maybe they will help me too. I am not going to have the surgery, but maybe they will support me more in trying to lose the weight. WOW, yeah as you see from Ann's posts (when she's around LOL) her life has changed since surgery. I hope the whole family can/will help both you and your sister with lifestyle changes to make it easier, but both of you just remember you are doing this for yourself.... ;-)
Guest guest
I'm so happy for you, ! Walking that far is great exercise I don't have tons of time to write today, but I wanted to offer a suggestion. If you carry a purse or backpack (or fanny pack), why not stick a granola bar (or some sort of portable snack) in there for emergencies? I always have a couple small bags of pretzels and/or granola bars in my car's glove compartment for that very reason. If I get too hungry, I'll eat ANYTHING! Sounds like things are going very well for you and you're back on track--stand proud because you turned it around -Bonnie

Don't forget to pack your water for your walks so you don't have to get soda. IMHO that isn't satisfying during a walk (soda)...

Me too, even though I don't always respond in the threads, I gain a lot of info from you gals!! Also maybe I will start bringing some water bottles from home when I go to the mall to walk. Probably cheaper the buying one water bottle at the mall. Don't ya think? Definately! They charge like a buck or more for bottled water "out in stores" and I can get it for free out of my tap LOL... I usually keep a couple of them cycling through my frige so it's cold. Or in our hotter weather in the freezer LOL... Also I think you are right, when walking water satisfies much better then soda. Awwww thanks. Just my opinion, but soda and coffee makes me thirstier than if I just have water.
Guest guest
Bonnie, I would have never thought of that. Thanks for the idea. I will get some kind of bar or portable snack and start keeping it in my purse. That and maybe leave some in my car like you suggested. That is a great idea. Thank you very much! from MO.I don't have tons of time to write today, but I wanted to offer asuggestion. Guest guest
Better yet, keep a small can of tuna, and a fork or a small can of chicken and a fork. Protein is soooo good for a snack! Guest guest
Tuna huh? I didn't know that was good for you. I learn new things all the time. Thanks for the idea. I have heard before that protein is good for a person, but I was wondering what it actually does for someone. from MO.Better yet, keep a small can of tuna, and a fork or a small can of chicken and a fork.
