Congrats!

I'm doing a happy dance for ya!

>Ok now he bad news. I totally cannot Journal. I just don't do it. I keep saying I'm gonna do better then I never do it.

Why not just try a simple checklist, like one space for food, another exercise, a third for water. Or just put stars on a calendar for every day you eat on plan, one color for food, another color for exercise. Just a little record and incentive to do better the next week. It was Sue in FL who mentioned that idea years ago. I bought the stars but never used them. :(

>If you look at my webpage Journal you will see I only journaled 3 times this month.

I keep a personal journal on my computer and I write in it every day, sometimes many times a day, as I have a LOUSY memory and need some way to keep records of events and happenings. I *should* keep a food journal again - I did it for decades and just fell out of the habit when I got my first computer. I tried keeping a record in my Mastercook so it kept track of calories/exchanges and all the other nutritional info like others here use Spark and FitDay. It got to be too much work.

Maybe that's what I'll do today, check my storage boxes or hit the store and buy another of those homework assignment/memo pads that I used to use. I would write the current stats on the inside front cover and each time I eat, write it down. Those are the small ones, about 3" x 5", small enough to toss in a pocket so there's no excuse not to use it. The Foodmover is a great device to keep tally during the day, but it's not a permanent record to look back on in the future when you want to see what you did *right* when things are going wrong in the present.

Great job, ! I'm so happy for you!!! :)Keep up the good work :)Thanks Bonnie. I am still overjoyed. Do you know this is the most weight I have ever lost? I have never really dieted before. Right now this 20 pounds seems as good to me as 50 would have. I just hope I keep at it. I hope yours start to fall soon. You have been one of the people that has kept my hopes and spirits up in this group reading your posts. I hope I can return that for you!-Bonnie>> My Weight ChangeLook! It was Sue in FL who mentioned that idea years ago. I bought the stars but never used them. :( I have several things now where all I have to do is check a box and somehow I still just never get around to doing it.

When I started back at the end of January I logged every crumb that went in my mouth and every walk I took along with the water. Then as time went by I would miss logging a meal then fail to log some water untill finally I just wasn't logging anything. And it's not as if I can't. I have all kinds of things available to me(sparkpeople, computer and even a notebook and pen for petes sake) but I just don't do it.

Maybe that's what I'll do today, check my storage boxes or hit the store and buy another of those homework assignment/memo pads that I used to use. I would write the current stats on the inside front cover and each time I eat, write it down. Those are the small ones, about 3" x 5", small enough to toss in a pocket so there's no excuse not to use it.Now this however I didn't think of. Something I could actually keep on my body. I think that was one of my main problems. I'd go visiting or something and have something to eat and then forget by the time I'm home everything I had so there went a meal unlogged. The Foodmover is a great device to keep tally during the day, but it's not a permanent record to look back on in the future when you want to see what you did *right* when things are going wrong in the present. Now see, I have the food mover, but I could never really figure out how to use it completely. I mean I know for a few things it is simple. Like when you eat foods their pure form. Like for example if I eat a potato. It is simple to figure out what to close. But......what if I fixed lets say a Lasagna or some dish that has like 10 ingredients in it. I just could never figure out what windows then to close. They have a calulator out there that is suppose to help you with that but shoot I couldn't figure out how to use it either. So if anyone has a foodmovers guide for Dummies please let me know. I would love to learn how to use that thing better.

We went to every clothing store we knew of. Not to mention our all time favorite places like wal-mart, and dollar tree. We left the house yesterday just a little before 9am and we didn't come home till sometime around 8:30 or 9:00 pm. I did'nt look at the clock but I got home, rested a moment, responded to a few emails, took my shower and went to bed. We walked until the youngest(3 year old ) had to be packed or buggied the last 4 or 5 stores because her legs and feet was so sore and tired. I packed her while she slept on my shoulder a couple stores then we got her very own shopping cart and let her sleep in it while we pushed her. I also got part of my grocery shopping done. We plan on going out again next week to finish grocery shopping for the month and do some scrapbooking shopping. I did eat a bit more reckless yesterday but I really think my exercise took care of it. I don't think I will see a gain from anything I ate. I didn't go way averboard but did have a bit more then usual.

Ah, so you're lucky enough to have *not* ruined your metabolism like so many

of us have with decades of dieting.

Even so, a 20 pound loss is fantastic for *anyone*!

some dish that has like 10 ingredients in it.

That's where my Mastercook came in handy. I would plug the recipe into

Mastercook (And I think Fitday allows this, too) and from version 5 and up,

Mastercook will list the diabetic exchanges in the nutritional information.

> They have a calulator out there that is suppose to help you with that but

I think Weight Water Points are even worse to figure out. This is probably

why they now have the Core plan, where many foods go uncounted, as well as

Points.

> So if anyone has a foodmovers guide for Dummies please let me know. I

would love to learn how to use that thing better.

Hit your bookstore and find yourself a diabetic exchange guide. The larger

ones have mixed meals like that in it. Or one of the sites like Fitday or

the Mastercook software. Still, it does seem to be a lot of work before you

even get to take one bite of your food. That's when I started making up my

menus a week ahead of time, because it took so long to figure out all the

exchanges for each day. makes it seem to easy to do " on the fly " ,

like as soon as you look at a restaurant menu you can figure out what to

choose based on what's left on your Foodmover. But first ya gotta figure out

what's in each dish (including the chef's " special secret ingredients " ),

then figure out how much of each choice you can actually eat.

See why I always say losing weight permanently is a full time job? LOL To

keep it off ya gotta *keep* doing this for the rest of your life!

Woooowwwwww!!!!!!! Way to go !!!! Doing great!!!!! Keep it up. Don't worry too much about journaling. If you can do it great, but if not you are still losing and that is what matters. I wouldn't stress over the not journaling. I have the same problem. I keep saying I am going to journal, but ... well you know the rest. from MO.

Did you do it Sue?

I used Fit Day for a few months a long time ago but it is soooo time consuming

and hard to maintain for the long term...... for me at least. For now I'm

lucky to have my hunger curbed due to surgery so I just try to watch portions.

Never did. But I did dig out the Foodmover again.I'm still trying to find my master cook. I want to try punching in my food to see the exchanges like you told me. I want to learn to use the food mover if I can. Theres no need to have it if I don't use it. Now....If I was a masterCook program where would I be hiding?
