Guest guest
's Daily Message SaturdayMay 27, 2006QUIT? I`ve been a bit tardy in my correspondence because I`ve been on the road a lot lately. That`s why last night I spent a few extra hours at my desk playing catch-up. I lit a candle, (vanilla grapefruit--wish you could smell), put some soft background music on my Sirius Satellite Radio and read through my mail. You know who I got a lot of mail from the past couple of weeks? From people who just want to quit, that`s who! After reading a few of their letters, they all began to sound something like this: ", I`ve just had it! I can`t take it anymore. I`ve been trying to lose weight for most of my life. I got pretty close to my goal a few times but I screwed up and put the weight right back on. I'm sick. I`m sick of measuring my foods and watching my portions. I`m sick of going out to eat with my friends and having to watch them eat anything they want, because they`re not on diets, while I`m stuck eating rabbit food. I`m sick of exercising, too. I can`t stand going to the gym watching all those skinny people work out. I`m sick of weighing myself . It totally stresses me out. And I`m sick of reading food labels. I guess I just have to face the fact that, like it or not, looks like I`ll always be fat. So, that`s it. I`m throwing in the diet towel!" Hold it! Are you one of the people who wrote me an "I quit!" letter? Has quitting gone through your mind? Don`t! I`ll have a fit if you quit! I really will. Be honest, you know you don`t really want to give in. That`s not you. You`re just going through a phase we all go through. You`re feeling sad or down about something and that`s what makes you think this way. Try to relax today and flush all of that negativity out of your mind. Pray or meditate and seriously think about your life. Think about how wonderful it will be for you to feel healthy. Don`t think about what you ate yesterday. Think about what you can eat today that will help you stay on program. Make time to walk or tone. Or make time to visit me at the "mall" and Party Off The Pounds with me in my new DVD. No more talk about quitting though, okay? Need an extra dose of motivation? Join the Clubhouse with us! One more thing I want you to remember: Quitters don't lose. (Pounds, that is!)
