I haven't had a holiday or vacation or birthday since WLS. It's been 6 weeks and I'm down 40 pounds. Yesterday the Brownies had their ceremony to become Juniors and there were giant cookies with icing and punch with Ginger Ale and lime sherbert. Since I'm afraid of sugar now I didn't even taste either one. Hopefully sugar makes me dump so I'll continue to avoid it. I haven't tested that out yet though.

Good for you Ann! I know it hasn't been easy to drop those pounds... hey, I can't wait til my 40-pound mark!!

I met a friend for lunch yesterday at Berryhill Tacos. Yum! Prior to surgery I would have eaten tons of chips and salsa, two chicken enchiladas with tomatillo sauce, all the black beans and a few bites of rice. Yesterday I ate 4 chips. 1.5 chicken enchiladas and a couple of bites of black beans. I got all the flavor but a lot less calories than before.

That sounds delish! We don't have that place here, so it must be a locational thing for your area.... but, tacos is sounding good right now. I haven't had *much* to eat at all for the past 36 hrs..... still playing with what won't creep me out on the pain meds.... getting easier though.

The girls are supposed to spend the night with my parents tonight so and I can have a date. I don't think we've gone out since December! Unfortunately my 6 year old is home sick today. Argh! We still might be able to go if she continues to improve.

Praying for a date night recovery for you and dh!!

We never go out to eat on Mother's Day because places are too crowded. We'll probably go out on Sat. night.

No kidding, now that's an idea. Have to play it by ear here at my house....

I have my eating under control due to the surgery but I'm not exercising like I should be. I'm supposed to walk 30 min. a day but I haven't been doing that every day. Why? Because I'm a lazy slug! Smack me!

I don't know, it still sounds to me like you have been pretty active since surgery. More so than I thought that quickly, you know. Keep up the good work!

40 pounds! WOW! Are you starting to notice changes in your body?

Since 'getting real' with myself back in September, I've greatly

limited the amount of sugar/fatty foods I eat and now when I *do* have

something like that, I experience something I never have

before--satisfaction after consuming only a small quantity. Yay! Now

that I've been off red meat for 3-4 months, it makes me sick to my

stomach if I have more than just a little taste. It's amazing. I

don't eat nearly as much as I used to at any meal and I *really* don't

feel hungry. It's just amazing how the body adapts.

I hope you get to go out tonight!!! *laugh* I don't see us getting

another date night until Ben is in college ;P

We don't, either...mostly because we all like to do the BBQ thing. My

mom and sister will be here tonight and are staying the weekend so we

can all celebrate together. Hopefully I'll manage to stay away from

the junk they'll want to have around :P

You're not a lazy slug! And I agree with --sounds like you've

been VERY active since the surgery. With the nice weather coming,

it's inevitable you'll feel like getting out more. :)

Congrats on the weight loss and have a great weekend!

Congrats!

>I did the gym Friday and the pool Saturday as planned.

I'm glad your spring flu, or whatever it was, went away so you can get

active again. You're one person who *never* sits still!
