SEEING IS BELIEVING

Three days a week, I find time in my schedule to get my personal toning workouts in. At the beginning of my career, I wasn`t much into resistance training, but now I whistle a different tune because I really enjoy keeping my body strong!

First thing I do is pick out the music I`m gonna hear while working out. Nope, can`t do it without the music! I then get my 15 and 25 pound sets of weights and put them in front of my full length mirror. Before I do any lifting, I spend a few minutes stretching all over. I also take about 5 deep breaths to get my energy up. Yes, breathing gives you energy.

I work the major muscle groups first, the lats and the chest. Next I work out my biceps, triceps, and shoulders. After I do my endurance routine with 15 pound weights, I then switch to the 25 pound weights to do my strength training. The endurance part gives muscles longevity, while the strength part makes the muscles powerful.

I know a lot of you don`t like looking at yourself in the mirror, and I know when you tone to my videos, you are looking at your TV screen. What I would like you to do is one day park yourself in front of your mirror and do your toning workout. I know you know the movements by heart, don`t you? You lift weights or use toning rings or cords. You know you're doing it correctly because you can feel it in your muscles, but feeling is one thing, and seeing is another. What you will see in the mirror will even make you want to work harder. And why? Because you will see the muscles in your upper body move and start to take shape! After about 6 weeks, your body will look more toned and youthful!

You need to keep your muscles strong because you`ve got a lot of livin` to do, so pull out all the toning videos and DVD`s you have, and start being more serious and diligent in getting in your toning workouts.
