So many are writing me and telling me they are just too tired to do anything, especially exercise. They start to work out, and they can`t last for more than a few songs. If you`re tired all the time, if you have no get up and go, I think you should call your doctor and let him know about your situation. There could be something very wrong with you that needs fixing. You also could be tired because you`re sad or depressed about what`s happening in your life, but I`m going to tell you another reason why I believe your body is not filled with energy. Because of the way you eat! Certain foods are packed with energy, and certain foods are definitely not. What can zap your energy quicker than anything? Fried foods, of course! French fries, onion rings, fried hamburgers, fried tacos, fried egg rolls, fried bread, AKA donuts. Ooh, all that grease sliding down your throat makes a body pretty lazy. Processed foods are next in line. These foods, as you know, are filled with chemicals, preservatives, and way too much salt. Then there`s soda and diet sodas. They are loaded with sugar and caffeine. These drinks and similar ones may give you energy, but it is so short lived. I have always told you that fresh is best! Fresh is filled with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants… in other words, LIFE! If you want energy, then eat all your portions of fruit – blueberries, strawberries, bananas, papayas, and kiwis, oh my! You want energy? Then eat all your portions of vegetables – a mixed green salad every day. Snack on raw vegetables and create interesting veggie side dishes for your evening meal. You want energy? Eat all your portions of good fat like avocado, olive oil, and nuts. You want energy? Then eat your 2 portions of dairy. Choose fat free milk, cottage cheese, and yogurt to help those bones of yours stay dense. If you want energy, you have to eat all your portions of smart carbs like brown rice, oatmeal, whole grain breads and yams. If you want energy, you have to eat all your portions of protein like salmon, halibut, chicken, turkey, and lean red meat. And when you eat these foods in the right portions throughout the day, you will have energy throughout the day! Have a spectacular week!
