Guest guest
Kathey, I would like to meet you some day too Wouldn't it be great if there was a way that all of us could some day get together and meet face to face. Doubt that will ever happen, but it would sure be nice. 295.4/295.4/266.
Guest guest
> I need to do that Wendee plan....I had my first real gain today at ww (THREE POUNDS!!!) and I am totally bummed and afraid that this is the beginning of the end....any advice? Words of encouragement?? > XO > Kathey Well, first off, you're doing great--one gain doesn't mean the end. Do you have any idea why you gained it? Sometimes it's just random water weight. But remember that consistency, not perfection, is the goal, right? We're all going to have off days/weeks where the scale doesn't move in the right direction, but we know what to do to get it going again. It's how we live 90% of the time that defines us, not the 10% of the time we mess up. But maybe you didn't mess up--maybe it's just water weight or a plateau, in which case, I can relate--I've been bouncing up and down with 4-5 pounds for about 2 months! It's sooooo frustrating. But somewhere I read that it's a point we'll *all* get to and we have two choices: Continue on our plans and break through it eventually; or, lose our patience and faith in ourselves and let it be the excuse for why we failed again. I'm not willing to fail again. Even if I stay at 268 lbs for the rest of my life, I will not have failed. I am so active now. And I'm healthy in terms of cholesterol/triglycerides/blood sugar levels, and my endurance for exercise has gone through the roof. Heck, the fact that I actually *like* exercise now is a huge victory! I think it's in one of Bob Greene's books that says when you hit a point where you gain, or plateau, envision yourself 6 months down the road. Did you get frustrated and quit and gain all the weight back, or did you hang in there and see things pick up again? Just don't let 3 pounds be the reason you abandon a healthier lifestyle. You're doing SO WELL, Kathey! Just hang in there--drink plenty of water, get your exercise, and make sure you're journaling every 'point'. If it's too hard to think about long term, just really concentrate on this next week. You can do anything for a week, right? -Bonnie (who is *really* looking forward to the higher calorie day tomorrow on Wendie's Plan!) I need to total up my stats this weekend, since it is the *end* of our 1-yr walking challenge... I plan to keep going and stuff to see how many mountains I can climb... That would be SO cool to track.... Kathey, yes..... my employer subscribed us to the health@work website and we got our pedometers, log books and access to the website for a mere $10 for a whole year LOL!! So, when we log on and put our steps into the calendar, it will then show us going up a mountain. I think it is because they know how many feet it is to the peak of a mountain, so figure after you walk so far you have made it up a mountain. So far, I think, I have almost gone 11 mountains in the year!! Then we get a certificate and a button. I have the certificates at home and the buttons hanging on my wall display at work ;-) There's a Women's Health Challenge for 8 weeks going on right now that you could join and it does something similar, shows you walking along a path.... I don't think there are certificates or buttons, just the knowledge you are doing something good for your bod... here's the link: http://www.womenshealth.gov/whw/woman/ Happy walking - holy cow you walk a lot - I average usually 5-10000 steps a day, just depending on what's going on... Guest guest
, do you have a website to track your mountains???? That would be SO cool to track....I know I have been walking a couple times a day (often at least 3 times a week getting up to 7 miles in one day!!!) and I would be curious to see how many mountains I have climbed...... I need to be more consistent....like sometimes I feel like if I don't have a good hour to devote to walking, I wont walk....but lately I have been plopping in a Sansone DVD and even just doing 1 mile a few times a day if that is all I have time for.....I LOVE going for my 4 mile power walks, but sometimes I just don't have the time (or it is too blasted HOT!! OVER 100 YESTERDAY in SoCal where we live!! ICKY ICKY!!!) so I cant use that as an excuse..... Blessings!Kathey Re: Re: Kathey In a message dated 6/2/2006 4:33:39 PM Pacific Standard Time, brgk44@... writes: Even if I stayat 268 lbs for the rest of my life, I will not have failed. Guest guest
No, it's our team on that walking challenge website.... when you registered it should have given you options of joining alone or a group so you probably registered alone.... which is fine... ;-)

Guest guest
Kathey, Sounds like you hit a plateau - that ugly inevitable thing. Don't let it beat you. You're doing great! I hope you went back on plan yesterday. You have our support and just remember how good you felt. Kathey <WeRBlessed4@...> wrote: Yeah, I SAY this but my mind is just really frustrated right now.....I went to my weigh in thinking I had a great week and NOTHING, ZERO, NADA!! So what did I do today....chose to go OFF plan.....whatever.....I know this is a lifelong daily thing....I know I can do it.....sometimes I just sabotage myself because I would rather do that than admit to being a failure.....I have no support from hubby and that is hard...just ONCE I would love for him to say: YOU CAN DO THIS!! I AM SO PROUD OF YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE....but you think I get that?? NOPE, never....barely even an I love you.....ÜÜ Sorry for my pity party....XO .
