IS YOUR JOB TO BLAME?

I`ve been talking to so many people who are not finding success in the

weight loss department. I always spend time listening to why they think

they`re not dropping the pounds. Oh, and the excuses just fly out of their

mouths, as if they`ve recited the word many times before. I asked each

person a lot of questions about their lifestyle so I can give them the best

advice possible. Some say they`re having marital problems or divorce, and

they`re not handling it well. Others are taking care of parents or relatives

who are sick or dying. And as you know, the number one excuse is always, " I

don`t have enough time. " And for some of you, it is very true. Many of you

who are reading this right now are overweight or obese because you`re in the

wrong job. That`s right! Your job is in the way of you being healthy.

I have a gentleman who has written to me for almost 11 years. After speaking

with him the first time, I knew he was very married to his work. He got up

at the crack of dawn, drove an hour and a half to work, worked through his

lunch hour and breaks, drove home, which took him two and a half hours, ate

dinner, and went to bed. I told him unless he worked less hours or changed

careers, he would gain more weight and wouldn`t be well enough to continue

working. Every time I heard from him over the years, he was " still trying to

take care of himself. " I knew he kept gaining weight, even though he would

never tell me how much he weighed until last week. His boss let him go

because at 390 pounds, he was no longer able to perform his job. He is now

at home and is finally ready to take his weight seriously. He started back

on my program on Sunday, and at the same time he`s working on his weight, he

is working on going back to school and training for a job he can enjoy that

will not swallow up his life.

I told you that if your job is too demanding and too stressful, it will get

the best of you and your health. So is your job getting the best of you? I

suggest you give your best to another job that will love you back!

Love,
