Guest guest
's Daily MessageFridayMarch 24, 2006 THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING SWEATY I think many of you have forgotten why you do cardio exercise in the first place, so today, I thought we would have a little cardio talk together! First off, cardio strengthens the most valuable muscle in the body, and that`s your heart. It`s what makes everything go or stop. If the heart just sits there and is not challenged, it grows weak. When you start moving around, the heart starts to sing. With every movement of your arms and legs, you are improving your heart and its beats. When you don`t work out, your blood flow slows down, and that means poor circulation is on its way to a body near you. When the blood is not flowing properly, your energy level can really suffer. When the blood doesn`t flow like it should in the brain, well, it affects the way you think and feel. A good aerobic workout can change all that! Now let`s focus on your bones. When you sleep, your bones sleep. When you sit, your bones sit. So between sleepin` and sittin`, your bones become… lazy bones! Eating healthy is one way to give life to your skeleton, and the other way is taking your bones for a dance! You owe it to your bones to make them jive. Be good to them, and you`ll be upright for a long time. I have to tell you, the lungs appreciate a good workout, too. Many of you have smoked or still smoke and have damaged your set of pipes. Then years of inactivity didn`t help much, and neither does the smog and pollution. All the breathing you have to do to get through a cardio class helps to build lungs that will last a lifetime! As you know, carrying around extra weight slows your metabolism down and gives you that sluggish feeling all over, and when your metabolism isn`t working, the weight doesn`t come off that easily. As many of you can testify, once you start adding a daily routine of cardio, your metabolism will act as if it has wings! You will see pounds in flight! Oh, and one more benefit to share with you before I go. Cardio gives you that attitude adjustment that we all need. Five minutes into your sweatin`, you feel a little like Forrest Gump, and that`s a good feeling! Love,
