's Daily Message WednesdayFebruary 08, 2006A MOTHER`S LOVE

I had quite an emotional radio show last Sunday that I`d like to share with you. In the 3 hours I was on the air, I talked to many people who had to lose 200-300 pounds. When I made my list up of those to call, I was amazed at how many emails on my desk are from men and women who weigh over 400 pounds.

I began the show by bringing on Kolman, administrator of the Brookhaven Rehab Center that I send many people to. When was in his early 20`s, his best friend died of obesity, and he`s decided to spend the rest of his life working to save the lives of the morbidly obese. He explained to everyone on the radio why it is so important to get these people into a rehab center so they can get physical therapy every day, a sound nutritional program, and counseling.

After we talked a while, I brought on another call from a gentleman who weighs 636 pounds and needs to get into a rehab center. He had been rejected from so many in his area because of his size. I had him talk with , and I hope can get him into Brookhaven.

As I mentioned to you once before in a past message, I was going to talk with this young gentleman named Shane. One of Shane`s relatives wrote me and asked if I could speak with him, so I had him all set to be on my radio show, and hours before I was going to talk to him, he passed away.

We were all so upset, and I called his mom, Angie, and chatted with her. I also talked to her this past Sunday. I brought her on so she could speak with Kolman, because she was very angry. Angie told Mr. Kolman that she had tried for years to get her son in a rehab center. She was turned down, no matter who she called.

When Shane became very ill, Angie wanted to take him to get a CAT scan, an MRI, and x-rays, but there were no machines big enough for Shane to fit in. All the doctors could do was take blood and urine, and from their results, decide how to treat Shane. He died of pneumonia, and Angie believes if he could have gotten the proper treatment, he would be alive today. Our hearts broke as she told her story, and she made a pledge on the show that she would do something about this situation, and I believe she will
