Guest guest
Hi back atcha! Lol I used the treadmill as my main cardio work out. When I get a little less wide lol I will be using my husbands Gazelle. I also do 2 sessions a day of yoga to build up my balance and strength that I have lost so much of being heavy. (but I don't count those sessions towards my workout mins) I use the Just My Size Yoga with . Lastly every other day during the week I also do weight training. I had a ball but ACK forget it lol at my weight its a challenge just sitting on the darn thing let alone working out with it lol. I do occasionally when I am just sick of the treadmill do the WATP dvd's, but not often as they kill my feet. I think any extra movement you can get in during the day that gets your heart rate up And keeps it there for at least a little while would count *grin*. Just thought I'd pop in and ask what are peoples exercise of choice here. Mine seems to be the treadmill but I was just wondering what other exercises some of you 100 plus women uses. I have gone to a few web sites and excuse me but there is no way on this earth with the weight I am now that I can do those exercises! Was just wondering if there was good alternatives to just walking without having to purchase equipment that isnt gonna put me in my grave. ~:~The Personal Touch~:~Tags, Stats, or anything else personalized with your name.Everything here is personalized!http://free.hostdepartment.com/t/thepersonaltouchMy Personal Web Site Created by Diane Lighthouse Designs
Guest guest
, I do water walking and water pilates at the YMCA. It is not stressful on my knees and feet and I still get an aerobic workout with stretching and weights. Becky --- <sandra.mygroup@...> wrote: > HI! Guest guest
I like my bike, the urban rebounder - I bought a ball last week, but so far that darn piece of equipment is kicking my butt! I think tomorrow I'm dragging out the all in one Jackie chan thingy I bought 2 Christmas's ago and never used. ($19.99 the morning after Thanksgiving sale) <sandra.mygroup@...> wrote: HI! Guest guest
, Like I said, I can't do it all at once time. I break it up doing 2 miles at a time. And it goes fast. I have my bike sitting in front of my bedroom window and I can watch the kids play out front. The ab lounge 2 is a sit up thing. I don't know if I can explain it. You lay on it and push your feet down on the footrest, and you stretch way back. It's an easier way to do sit ups and crunches. It's like if your on a reclyner and lay the back all the way down. I know I am making no sense. Can anyone explain it better. I love walking outdoors. I live right by a nature trail, and once it's warm enough, I am on that trail 2-3 times a day. It's a total of 3 miles. We just got hammered with about 8 inches of snow, so now I will have to wait for it all to melt so I can find the trail, lol. You know I have to say, reading all the posts is so motivational for me. You all inspire me. I know I don't jump in and respond to everyone. I read the other responses that come in, and I know I couldn't say anything better or different. But I am cheering ya all on. Good luck to everyone in the coming week. I like the idea of mini goals. So mine right now will be to reach 299. hugs Marla Re: exercises? Goodness Marla, 6-8 miles a day? Thats seems so unreachable to me right now. I'm doing 30 minutes and doggone lucky to be getting it in. What is a ab lounge2? Never heard of it before. I'm afraid I'm gonna be doing my walking some other way soon. My poor old used treadmill is a coughing , spitting and begging for mercy. I think it's on its last leg. ~:~The Personal Touch~:~Tags, Stats, or anything else personalized with your name.Everything here is personalized!http://free.hostdepartment.com/t/thepersonaltouchMy Personal Web Site exercises? Guest guest
> but I was just wondering what other exercises some of you 100 plus women uses. My number one choice is walking outdoors, but we all know that isn't possible every day of the year. Number 2 is aerobic videos. I have a whole collection of and Sansone ones that I alternate, my all time favorite since it was released in the mid-1980's is and the Silver Foxes, the one he did with celebrity parents. It's very low impact and easy enough that no matter what your size or fitness level you can do the entire workout. My second favorite is any of 's 1-mile videos. Again, anyone in any shape can do them. Even though these workouts are simple, they still get you to work up a good sweat, and are simple enough that if you do have a problem doing any of the steps for any reason (arthritis, an injury, or even if you can't stand too long) you can still do what you can, and even pull up a chair and do many of the moves while seated. Next comes my treadmill, but even with the walking tapes by that I have, the mix tapes I made myself, other store-bought walking tapes, or even watching the tv while walking, I find it a very boring way to get my sweatin' done. I also spend time doing toning videos, use hand weights with a book for guidance (Strong Women Stay Slim), and do tai chi. Sue in NJ
Guest guest
This is nice, and you see all kinds of critters. Most of it is shady, and there are benches along the way. hugs Marla Re: exercises? I think by the way you are explaining it I know what you are talking about. Guest guest
I did 8 minutes with the ball today - but it was just the warm up LOL - and I weigh 302.8! <sandra.mygroup@...> wrote: hahaha, I know what you mean about the ball. My son has one sitting in his room right now and all I have to do is walk about 20 feet to get it and I can use it. But now what in the world would I at 260 pounds do with it? I did see a couple of things at sparks people that I might attempt after maybe 10 pounds loss. Notice I said I might not I will!My walk tonight on the treadmill had me dripping all that water out of me that I drunk. It was 8 glasses in today and 8 glasses out today when I was on the treadmill.LOLLive, Love, Laugh
Guest guest
somebody probably beat me to it but here's a link for the ab lounge 2 http://www.fitnessquest.com/scripts/cgiip.exe/WService=/itemdetl.html?item=4-AL2423 & src=FQ1443%20my question is - that it says weight limit 250. How does it feel? I'm thinking since I'm about 50 over that - if it snapped I could mess up my back. eeyore1959@... wrote: , Like I said, I can't do it all at once time. Guest guest
I love the fact that my daughter's ball came with a video - I hate those stupid posters (that's also why my pilates thingy a ma bob is in the 'exercise eqipment' box.) not too much credit though - the warm up is taking the 55cm ball and doing movements above your head, twisting with it etc warming up the top half - easy stuff, a little more challenging is standing on 1 foot while the other is on top of the ball - moving it all sorts of ways to warm up that area - that only worked because I grabbed a hold of the stabalizer bar on the urban rebounder LOL otherwise I very well could of landed on my tush! Did better standing on my right leg I broke down at the crunches sitting on the ball. I can balance no problem - but scootching to the front and curling - nope not happening yet! <sandra.mygroup@...> wrote:Oh...you brave girl! 8 minutes with the ball.
