THE UNDO

In the ceremony of a marriage, you say a lot of dos. In the tragedy of most

divorces, you undo it all. Every day I speak with men and women who are

divorced and eating over it. People get divorced for a lot of reasons. Many

that I talked to got divorced because they found out their spouse was having

an affair. It seems every TV series and every movie have one or more

characters who are being unfaithful.

I spoke with a lady on my radio show last Sunday. She and her husband would

have several people that he worked with come over for dinners. One of the

secretaries in the office he brought over became very friendly with her and

wanted to become good friends. When she and her husband went out, this lady

would appear from nowhere and join them! As weeks went on, the secretary

began calling the house several times a day. She confronted her husband

about all of this, and he told her it was all in her mind. Well, all of this

finally got to her, and she had a nervous breakdown and spent some time in a

hospital to get help for her depression. While she was in the hospital, he

filed for divorce. Less than a year after the divorce, the husband married

the other woman.

In this period, the lady that I was speaking to had put on a great deal of

weight and felt worthless. I told her I was very sorry about all she had

been through. I also told her she was not worthless, and that she could move

on and rebuild her life.

It will take time, and there will be many emotional ups and downs, but with

a strong will and family and friends, you can get back your self-worth.

First you have to start developing a better relationship with you. Remember,

long before there was a " we " , there was a " you. " Project Me Passport #9

says, " I realize food has no powers and will never solve any of my

problems – past, present, future, married, single, or divorced. " If you`re

going through a situation like this, please be good to yourself and know

that you are loved by many.
