TREASURES

When I got home last night from New York, I spent some time hugging the

dogs. Then I went downstairs to my office to get ready for its face-lift.

No, not MY face-lift; the office`s face-lift. Every few years, I redo the

colors, and this year the color is butter yellow. Better staring at it then

eating it, if you know what I mean! All the trimming will be dove gray, and

I`m looking at drapery fabrics next week.

Last night, I spent a few hours down there cleaning up a bit. While going

through some drawers, I found so many pictures of me from every decade of my

life. Do you ever look at pictures of yourself when you were a kid? Kind of

weird, isn`t it? I also found class pictures from elementary school. I

always thought I looked awful in the photos, but not my parents! They loved

them and had 8 x 10`s, 5 x 7`s, 3 x 5`s, and wallet sizes made to put in the

family Christmas cards. I wonder what all those people did with my pictures?

They`d be worth something now! LOL!

I laughed at how my afro got bigger and bigger over the years. On " General

Hospital, " it wasn`t that big the first year, but it seemed to grow every

season I was on! By the mid 80`s, my hair got its own social security

number! I love looking through pictures that were taken on the sets of my

videos. There I am at Pop`s Diner, the amusement park, and on the streets

that made up the set of " Dance Your Pants Off. "

Over the years, I have done quite a few press photos that I sent out to

people to make them smile and keep them motivated. There was the one where I

was chained to a 6-foot fork, and the one where I wore a halo of knives,

forks, and spoons. My favorite one was the one where I was wearing a tuxedo

and floating on a cracker in a bowl of tomato soup.

It`s amazing how much fun you can have by yourself looking through old

pictures. I love to clean out drawers and find all these treasures. I got

some beautiful scrapbooks for Christmas, and after I teach my classes today,

I`ll work on filling those scrapbooks up with pictures that tug at my

emotions.

Do you have a drawer that needs cleaning and a scrapbook that needs filling?

What did you look like in your class pictures?
