Hi , I'm sorry it's been a rough go of getting Gracie used to

her helmet. I keep thinking, how could they ever get used to that

thing? My Abby has been in her helmet now for two weeks, and now she

doesn't even seem to notice it. It will get better, Gracie's just

trying to get used to it. I think in the beginning it's harder

because you're always taking it off and putting it back on. Once

Abby was in it all day (it's only been a few days now) she isn't even

aware of it anymore. I have had problems with the sweating also, but

I have noticed it's getting better--they say it will get better after

a few weeks. I hope today is a better one for you and Gracie--keep us

posted!

Oh, I feel so bad for you! I felt the exact same way as you are now

when Abby first got her band. I cried for several days, felt like I

was being mean to my child, etc........then I would come on this

board & I would actually envy all the parents of graduates. I felt

like we would never see that longed for " graduation day " . Believe

me, it does get better each & every day. The first couple weeks to a

month pretty much drag on, but it will get better. It's harder on you

than it is on Gracie trust me! The sweating definitely gets better

like you mentioned, her body temp will adjust to it & the sweating

will decrease significantly. It is common/normal for the band to be

a bit loose for the first week or 2. My Abby's was like that too,

but after just a week it fit much better.

It does look like a LONG road in the beginning, but it'll be over

before you know it. Once you see Gracie's pretty head rounding

you'll feel so much better about this.

Hang in there.............soon you'll be posting about Grace's

rounding head & you'll be so upbeat about it all.
