Guest guest
Sorry, but I do believe that chicken pox is contagious a few days before the pox appear until they are all scabbed over. You have already been exposed and if you aren't immune to them, you probably will get them. Some people are immune to them who have never had them. My dad never had them and he took care of me when I had them at 17, so you could be lucky. Sara _____ From: Petric [mailto:bluheron@...] Sent: Wednesday, February 02, 2005 1:28 PM Vaccinations Subject: Chicken Pox!! My 8 yr old came home from school, third grade with a paper telling there is chicken pox in his classroom. I looked him over and sure enough he had 5 red spots, today 5 more. I also have an 11 year old who hasn't had them and I am not sure if I have ever had them myself. I was adopted out and gotten back by my mother when I was 4, and she is not around to tell me if I did or did not, and at 51 I DO NOT WANT THEM, he's already been all over me so is it too late to avoid him or what should I do. Husband is home taking care of him but I am not feeling well myself.. Any help would be appreciated. You can email me privately if someone can help. Guest guest
We're doing CP at the moment. My dd (7) started breaking out on Saturday evening and she's still erupting this evening. Have just noticed another huge blister on its way up. Not having thought she'd been exposed to anyone we knew with CP, I did some research and apparently it has an incubation period of between 5-20 days. It continues to be infectious until the last spot has crusted over, according to my homoeopath, which should, in theory, be about 5-6 days after the onset of the first spots. So until 20 days have elapsed you can't be sure you won't get CP. But having said that, you'll only develop them if you're susceptible. My best friend works at my dd's school, she's 41, been around primary school kids for ages and has never had it. Not everyone gets it even if they have no known immunity. Guest guest
If I were in your situation, I'd postpone exposure to chicken pox, for the sake of your little 11 week old baby. I wouldn't want my 2 month old getting the pox, just yet, that's just a bit too early I think. Just my opinion, Vaccinations From: ktietje85@...Date: Sun, 27 Sep 2009 23:38:08 +0000Subject: Chicken Pox!! Okay, what should I do?My friend's 3-year-old (unvaxed) has chicken pox! I'm excited! I'd love my 20-month-old to get it. But I also have a 2-month-old (11 weeks this Thurs). I'm not sure I really want him to get it yet. What would you do?--KateMommy to Rebekah, 1-26-08, 7-16-
