My friend has asked me to watch her little girl who is 17 months old

3 hours a day 5 days a week. She is doing the vax schedule we are

not vax'ing our son. I was wondering if my child will be at risk by

having her in our home, I'm not sure how many more shots she is

going be recieving but I was wondering if our son will be at risk if

he is around her the same day or the days following her recieving

her shots? Any advice is appreciated.

He might be but we all have to take those risks as we are out there in the

world.

But YOU may be at risk if her child has a reaction and you are blamed for

injuring the baby.

Many cases of accusations of shaken baby syndrome..............babysitters

and family members.

I agree with Sheri. I just want to interject that when my first was

young, I did alot to shield him from others. Now, I'm on baby #3

and homeschooling. There's so much wonderful in the world to

experience that I just couldn't continue to be so protective. I've

chosen to not live in fear, but to trust God and the immune system

He's given to my children. I can tell you that we are all a lot

happier now :)

I've done in home daycare. I asked that parents not bring their child

within 24 hours of being vaxxed, to help eliminate possible

accusation/reaction issues. Ideally, I wanted to ask for a week, but

that would make it impractical for the parent. I would be concerned if

she is going to get her vaxxed with the flu shot, the chicken pox shot

and whatever the other one is - MMR, I think - that is shed. Because

they are live viruses and can be passed on. :-(

No, I'm not doing daycare anymore, too complicated. Another

complication that arose unexpectedly, I was summoned to court because

the parents of one of the children that I cared for were having a

custody battle and they wanted me to testify to how the child behaved

after being at mom's house/dad's house, how he behaved with each parent

and with me. :-( That sucked!
