Guest guest
's Daily Message Thursday January 19, 2006 CHOICE When you get a new phone, you make the best choice you can. When you get a new car, a new computer, a new body, you make the best choices you can. But are you? New Year, new eating habits, remember? When it`s time for you to eat, are you putting the best foods in your body that will nourish and shrink it at the same time? In the Clubhouse, the SlimAway Everyday program has created meals for you to feast on. In the program, I use foods that I believe are great choices from all the six food groups. I am very stingy with my fat windows, and you should be, too. I spend my windows on olive oil and canola oil, avocados, margarine spreads like Benacol, and once in a while, a pat of butter at 5 grams a shot. On Saturday night, I spend most of my fats on a luscious piece of dessert. My fruit windows are closed mainly by eating real fruit like bananas, blueberries, apples, kiwis, oranges, mangoes, and papaya, except on Saturday nights when I buy sugar for my one time a week treat. I never have vegetable windows left over at the end of the day because I know now that veggies fill you up, Buttercup, for very few calories and no fat. Cha, cha, cha! I use them for steamed veggie plates, salads, veggie and pasta dishes, and of course, snacking on carrots, cucumbers, radishes, celery, and jicama as midmorning and afternoon snacks. As there are overweight people, there are also overweight animals, and eating too much overweight animal makes people overweight. Chicken rules and beef`s not cool, except on an occasional Saturday night. Fish is the dish that should pass through your lips. Do you, too, carry a torch for storch… I mean starch? Yams will keep you on the go, and brown rice is nice! I choose pasta in all shapes and sizes. And let`s not forget about our dairy windows. Fat-free yogurt, fat-free pudding, mozzarella cheese, and yes, on Saturday nights, a glass of ice cold fat free milk. Please choose to lose!
