KISS THE COOK

And that would be me today! Before and after my radio show, you will find me

in my kitchen. First off, I have to test a few recipes that will go up in

the Clubhouse on February 1. Every month, I create 5 new recipes that are

easy to fix, not expensive to make, and kind to your waistline. I create

appetizers, soups, salads, main dishes, and – oh yes – desserts! Have you

Last night after dinner, I went grocery shopping with grocery list in hand.

Believe me, it is much better to be full when you grocery shop than to be

famished. The old me used to eat my way through the aisles. Now I`m a little

FoodMover soldier.

I`m gonna make a large bowl of grated veggie salad. I`ll take my stainless

steel grater from Target and go to work. I`ll grate on the large holes

purple and green cabbage, zucchini, carrots, and radishes. I`ll mix it all

up and put it in the big Tupperware bowl I got for Christmas. Every time I

want some, I just put 3 cups in a bowl, add lemon juice, olive oil, and red

wine vinegar, and then mix and devour. It`s so crispy and colorful, you`ll

feel like you are stuck in a rainbow, which is not a bad place to be!

I`ll cook a whole chicken tomorrow on the grill and make some veggie kabobs

for the week. On the skewers, I put small mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, cut up

asparagus, and chunks of sweet onion. I`m testing a new recipe for barley

vegetable soup and another for smashing spicy turkey burgers. And what will

I be listening to while I stir, grate, and anticipate? My new audio music

CDs that are now on sale in the store – country music gone sassy, gospel

tunes that will keep you a-walkin`, and a stretch tape filled with bells and

angels voices!
