Guest guest
Hi Tammy and welcome. I am glad that someone put in a plug for the sit and be fit program on PBS... it was "created" by an RN in the city I live in... it looks like a great program to get you moving in small increments... just keep building. Short story: my mother is also overweight and her knees/legs/back hurts so much she "can't exercise".... well, after 2+ years of sitting around feeling sorry for herself, she just got a part time working 2 days a week and she told me today she was scared cuz she has lost 16 pounds in 2 months not trying and I said well, you have been up on your feet moving your body 2 days a week for that amount of time, so I can see it easy (plus she was a little sick too)... she didn't think about those. So start small.... sit down, do leg circles or something to move your legs around and arm lifts or something to just get things moving, then gradually build up... then sooner or later you can do a structured "program" instead...
