Thanks for letting me know. You know what the weird thing is though. I got your message, but I didn't get mine back. I think maybe I had too much e-mail coming from two different groups. So I dropped one of my groups. I sure hope that helps. Again thanks for letting me know you go it.

So have many others out there, for a number of reasons.

got some of its servers on spamblocker lists, so if your isp uses the

services of those lists then any mail coming through on those servers are

marked as spam, even though they're regular listmail. MSN, Hotmail, and even

's own companies, like mail, and all the SBC companies (like

Prodigy) are blocking groups mail sometimes.

Another big reason this past week was a severed cable somewhere on the west

coast of the US, so a lot of mail wasn't getting through. It's fixed now,

but thousands of people went bouncing when it happened.

Unlike most other email servers, groups tries once and if a message

doesn't go through you get bounced. How many times and the reason it won't

go through will determine if it's a hard bounce (permanent problem) or soft

bounce (temporary). If it's a hard bounce, you need to prove your email is

working before groups will send any more mail. To do that you have to

request a reactivation notice by going to:

My Email Preferences on upper right hand corner your MyGroups page:

myprefs

and checking to see which of your email addresses is bouncing. Click on Show

History and then click on Send Reactivation notice (wording might be a bit

different).

Sometimes a moderator will go to the Bouncing Members page and send the

notice to you. Sometimes groups will send you the notice unasked if you

try send an email to the list while in Bounce status. Sometimes you don't

even know you're bouncing until a few days go by and you realize you haven't

gotten any email from any of your groups.

As soon as you get that email and follow the directions to unbounce

yourself, you can send and receive email again. Usually it's a matter of

clicking a link to groups to let them know you got the message.

Whatever the reason for your mail not going through, it seems to be okay

now.
