Guest guest
I ended up yesterda y with 22 glasses of water and I must admit this morning I'm almost against the idea of drink ing any. But I know I have to push myself. Night before last I also slept very very bad, almost felt lik e I did not get any sleep at all so when I went for my walk instead of repeating the six rounds I had done the night before I only did three. Thank goodness I got good sleep last night. As far as weighing goes, I set my weight down on paper each Mon day but I lik e to peek whenever I'm in that bathroom during the wee k. I don't think I could really stay motivated if I had to wait an entire month to weigh. I just need to buy a digital scale coz I hate loo king down over the tummy to read little strok es for numbers. Thank s again for all the welcomes to the group. I think I'm gonna like it here. Oh, and I went to the library last night and got out a couple fitness boo ks. Oh! Funny story and other mothers might relate…..I was loo king at fitness boo ks and diet and such and came across a book called "Sex, puberty and all that". Well , my oldest da ughter is just turned 12 recently and we know about the whole body change and everything but I figured she'd want to read this. I grabbed it on whim.. She has read "Are you there, God, it's me Margaret" Anyway, I wal k in the front door and my da ughter tells me she got her first period. I said well I guess it's good I pick ed this up. Not to mention, the fluttery feeling I have from k nowing I'm old enough to have an ovulating daughter. And the dream last night that she was doing something with a boyfriend that could mak e me a grandmother. Ah well. Hope that wasn't too of topic. Jalyn Mother of four 261lbs on my way to 150lbs. Add some flavoring to it. A twist of lemon or lime, even a few drops of an extract (like banana or orange extract) can work wonders in livening up a glass of water. Get some veggies and water in together by using a juicer and making some vegetable juice, just like V-8 but without the salt. If you've got a blood sugar problem I wouldn't recommend juicing fruits, though, as the sugar in them will be absorbed too rapidly. Besides, by eating the fruit whole you also get all that good fiber that keeps you feeling fuller longer. >Oh, and I went to the library last night and got out a couple > fitness books. There are a number of them out there specifically for the large-sized person. Look for Fitness for Real Women by Rochelle Rice, Great Shape: The First Fitness Guide for Large Women, by Pat Lyons and Debby Burgard, Don't Weight! - Eat Healthy an Get Moving NOW! by Bliss, 8 Minutes in the Morning for Real Shapes, Real Sizes: Specifically Designed for People Who Want to Lose 30 Pounds or More, by Cruise, and Strong Women Stay Slim by Miriam . If your library doesn't have them or can't get them via inter-library loan, most of these are really cheap in places like http://www.half.com and other used book sites. >Not to mention, the fluttery feeling I have from knowing I'm old > enough to have an ovulating daughter. Congrats to you and your daughter. The fluttery feelings *I* get are from knowing I'm old enough to have a son about to graduate college! Guest guest
I was wondering the same thing... I drink a lot of water, but I also drink a lot of tea and sugar free/diet drinks. Guest guest
on water, they say in some studies that you should drink 8- 10 glasses of water, are they talking about 8 oz glasses or what? in other studies i read that you should take ur weight and divide it in half and that is how man fl oz of water you should drink in a day in order to help you loose weight. i believe that i read that from one of those body building sites. tammySue in NJ <susang3@...> wrote: > I ended up yesterday with 22 glasses of waterRemember, your daily water requirement can be fulfilled with other liquids, too, like clear broth, bouillion, juices, even gelatin & low-cal ice cream, yogurt & sherbet.and I must admit this morning> I'm almost against the idea of drinking any.Add some flavoring to it. Guest guest
I have read both as well. Let me tell you though, that after one week of following the " half your weight " water consumption plan, I waterlogged myself..literally. My legs and ankles swelled up and my doctor freaked. He thought something was wrong with my heart. It was water poisoning. I didn't know that existed. He told me to drink no more than 80-100 oz a day at MOST and I had to be on water pills and potassium until the swelling went down.
