Guest guest
Hi there. Just wanted to say hi, this is my first post. Just lost 10 pounds (you know the first 10 are always the easiest). I figure I have to do this 9 more times and I'll be where I'd like to be. I mainly need sources of inspiration. I watched the Biggest Loser and that did a lot for me, especially the last episode. But that's not on every week unfortunately. I'd like to find different shows, websites, etc. that might work for others (before and after and inspirational stories work well). Any suggestions?? I am 30 years old, live in So. Cal, married with 2 kids (5 months and 2 1/2 years) and stay at home with them. I'm type II diabetic since the age of 25 and have high triglycerides and cholesterol... so you see I have a lot of reasons to lose weight. Thanks for listening to my quick intro. Guest guest
Hi, sorry for leaving that out. My name is Jodi and we're from So. Cal. I lost 11 pounds so far just making sure I drink the full 8 oz. of water everyday and I'm trying to move my body more... which isn't hard with 2 kids under the age of 2. I just also tried to eat less. Not getting 2nds or extras and not eating after 7 p.m. (WHICH BY FAR IS THE HARDEST FOR ME). It's ok because for my body, my weight gain is not always WHAT I EAT but how much and when I eat it. This way I'm still enjoying good food, just not as much. I know as I lose more weight, this will need to change.... for but now this is what helped the first 11 come off.Jase4567@... wrote: Welcome. Not sure of your name. How did you lose the 10 lbs? If you look in our Links section you'll see a url to a government site that explains why we need minimum a half ounce of water (or juice, coffee, soup, even gelatin) per pound of body weight. I'm 280, so I would need 140 ounces of liquids a day for my blood to flow smoothly, keep my skin smooth and soft and keep things in my digestive track moving without problems. Even tv commercials and articles in magazines like Woman's Day mention how " we " (average sized people doing average activities) need a minimum of 8, 8-ounce glasses, so that would be 64 ounces for a 125 pound woman, which does work out to about a half ounce per pound. >and I'm trying to move my body more... which isn't hard with 2 kids under the age of 2. Guest guest
Sue, 8 glasses (8 oz. each). Sorry typo... hard with being able to sit down and type with much thought with the 2 kids under 2. We eat at 5 p.m. and no snacks after 7... that helps me. I'm glad I found something that works for me too. Let's hope it keeps working. Guest guest
, Shortly after I was inspired to start losing weight AGAIN, from watching Biggest Loser, I saw this show on Oprah where they showed all of these people that came on the show who lost over 100 pounds and shared how they did it. One person did it just by swapping (i.e. cheese pizza w/ veggie pizza, etc.), one lady did it by having sex twice a day... stuff like that. Well the one that I liked the most, was the lady who said that every time she wanted something bad... like a craving or something... she had the 15 minute rule. She drank one 8 oz. glass of water and waited 15 minutes. By then it was gone. She was full and distracted. She lost over 100 lbs this way. I started doing that to increase my water load and not eat after 7. I hope I can keep on... 12 lbs down now. I am still eating junk, but a lot less.
