Guest guest
We do something a bit different for Thanksgiving. My husband is a pastor to a couple of deaf congregations in our area. We have a tradition of opening up the church on Thanksgiving Day for a potluck Thanksgiving dinner for those who have no place else to go. A lot of deaf people find it difficult to go to their hearing families -- and having no way to communicate with them. Anyway, my husband & I do the turkeys. The church has big rotisserie grill that does a wonderful job at cooking the turkeys. Everyone else is asked to bring a dish to share. The past few years we've had as many as 60 people at our Thanksgiving dinner. By the time Christmas Day rolls around, we are just too tired to care about Christmas dinner. Quite honestly, it is usually leftovers!
