Guest guest
hot in texas..just hot. i dont think that it will ever be cool again (i go through this every summer). exercise wise i am doing ok. but i think my scale is broken. *sigh. i shouldnt gain 24 pounds in a day and a half. the funny thing is i think the dh broke it when he moved it and " tried " to recalibrate it. oh well, i can check it when i go to the gym. thursday i am skipping the gym, but should get in plenty of walking. my girlfriends and i are going to try and get into the brand new ikea in north dallas. they are expecting 20,000 people there today so this could be interesting. diet wise i am doing fairly well, although i dont think i am getting enough protein in the morning, so something for me to work on this month. ok..off to work. have a good day, heidi On 8/3/05, Jase4567@... <Jase4567@...> wrote: > How are you all doing? It looks to be another week gone with no WW. How many meetings are in your town every week? Can't you fit any of them in? Your kids are old enough to play quietly while you attend a meeting if your husband can't stay with them. If you travel with your husband can you find a meeting in the race location town? I've seen so many WWers fail when they stopped going to meetings (myself included). You have been doing so great and I don't want to see you screw up. (don't be like me in other words) WW is important to you. It is worth the effort to get to those meetings! You are worth it! Ann
Guest guest
Doing okay today. I'm a lurker who's deceided to un-lurk. It's supposed to be about 100 in Oregon today so I won't be going outside to walk til the sun goes down. I haven't started any eating plan as of yet. It's been a rough past year and I haven't done much but hide in my house and eat. I have been reading the posts again for a few days now and I really apprieciate everyone's sharing. It makes it seem not so impossible and not quite so lonely. Anyway, I got myself a counselor about 6 weeks ago and I called my company's Employee Health program today to see if there is a scale I can use. Mine broke months ago and I don't know how much I weigh, between 300 and 350 I suspect. Turns out they also offer free access to lifestyle coaching and a dietician for full time employees, which I am, so I may see about doing that. It won't be comfortable as super-thin, super fit people tend to intimidate me but I suppose that's my own reverse sizeism coming out. I've also deceided to walk 15 minutes a day. Doesn't matter if it's aerobic I just want to move and get out of the house. I can do 15 minutes. I am going to read a chapter of the Bible everyday and spend at least 15 minutes in prayer. I've pretty much shut everything out of my life over the last year except food and unfortunatley that includes God as well. So I'm starting from scratch and moving slowly. I'm afraid I'll fail again and have noticed a real resistance to the idea of changing in my mind. I'm not going to listen but I notice it. I guess I'm kind of in the " getting ready " stage. I guess we'll se how it goes.
Guest guest
Yes Meetings are key for me. Here were I live there is only one location near me and I wont drive it. I spoke to the leader about getting a location over near where I was. She said they are looking into it. I will be able to get back on schedule come Sept. I was not going to make the kids miss ice skating do to WW. Only nights they have are wed and thurs. TOnight hubby is going to VT. The area I live in is getting so populated with stores. Walmart, Lowes, walgreens, applebees, and a strip mall. Hoping they open a location in this neck of the woods. NH... Guest guest
Baby steps christine you can do it. Make a inventory of your life and look at it in 2 weeks and you will see a change. Dont forget portions, exercise, and water are key. Start a journal it really does help. NH... Mom to Abby Liz 10/94 Anne 7/
Guest guest
simmons came out with a great program colors of life a few years back on one of the audio tapes it discusses inventory. My suggestion is Start a journal. Inventory things I list is How is??? My Weight on the scale, My portions, My exercise, My finances, My sleeping, My Water, My support system, My walking program, My measurements (important), My goals list. Whatever you would like to improve on OR want to monitor. I do it just like an inventory list. Then set a time to redo it. You will see change. After you do inventory page make a plan of action even if basic. 64 oz of water a day, 15 min bible reading, 15 walk, better choices and it will help. NH... Guest guest
Hi , I forgot about the water, so that's another easy thing I can stick in. Thanks! Snoopy question but wondering what you journal. Just food, just your thoughts or both together? I have been using fitday off and on for the last couple weeks just trying to get an idea of what I eat and what I ought to be eating and I like it. Portions are definatley a challenge. My favorite portion is " More, please...now! " > Baby steps christine you can do it. Make a inventory of your life and look > at it in 2 weeks and you will see a change.
