Guest guest
which is frustrating because another lady I worked with > wanted a boob job that they said was cosmetic but then they went ahead and > changed their mind and covered it because she was uncomfortable? So does this mean if I tell my insurance company that I'm uncomfortable with my lack of boobies, they'll pay for me to look like Dolly Parton?! Woohoo! I'll have to remember that one! Sorry to hear that you're having a tough time with your insurance. Don't give up!! Good luck! Guest guest
I think it should be illegal for an insurance company to deny any child coverage for any type of treatment that is determined by a doctor to be medically necessary. If a doctor prescribes a treatment then the insurance company should pay for it. It is that simple. Adults can go out and earn or aquire money for a needed treatment. Adults may deny treatment if they so wish to. Children do not have that luxury so it is up to the parents to make the decisions to do what we think is best for our children. If our children do not get needed treatment, parents could get charged with abuse for not seeking medical attention for our children. Also when our children become of age that they wonder why we did not do something about their plagio or whatever it may be Insurance companies are hindering our ability to adaquately provide for our children by not covering services that should be payed for by them in the first place. I also feel that insurance companies have a moral obligation to children. When my son was denied coverage for something (cannot remember if it was for the DOC Band or the synegsis), I told them I want whoever made the decision to come and explain to my son why the service was denied (of course it is impossible to explain his condition and needed treatment to a 8-month old) why . She quickly changed and said "he probably needs it, but it is against our policy....". Luckily, the services that have not been covered were inexpensive (I however feel that $3,000 is more than what I can afford since I owe over $2,000 from wheren was born..but I am willing to do whatever it takes to get what needs) compared to other services. I just wonder when it will stop though. There may come a time where my son needs a treatment that is very expensive and the insurance will not cover it. I just wonder since they deny the inexpensive treatments what will happen if needed a tretment that I could not afford. I have been wanting to write my congressmen about how insurance companies deny coverage of services deemed necessary by a doctor. Although adults get deny too, I feel it is especially difficult when children are denied the coverage. ANdrews Mom to 8-months Virginia Re: re: another insurance quandry Yes I tried to explain the whole thing to him and he kept saying "what is it called again?" and "why would they try PT on a baby?" I felt like beating my head on the wall after speaking with him. I am sure with me bugging him and appealing he will be educated in the end!! But I found it interesting that in their literature to tell to subscribers that it listed word for word the tort and the plagio as a result. - For more plagio info

Guest guest
, I agree that if a dr (especially a specialist) deems it necessary then it should be covered. It really irriated me that I had a letter of medical necessity from the specialist and ped (BOTH of whom were in THEIR network) and they still denied my claim three times. SO frustrating!!!
