I've been over weight since the age of eight. Reached goal weight a million times to gain back. I really liked what you wrote about being in the grocery store and buying healthy food. I like keeping a food journal it helps me see where I am at. I am size 22 at 250, gained 100lbs from severe manic depression, meds, stress, hormones, thyroid and compulsive emotional eating. I am glad I am here. Brigit

WW failure who speaks from experience I agree, I just don't see it as a failure, a set back maybe. I reached goal many years ago, so I know what it feels like in my body. Guest guest
You are not a failure. You just have not found a plan that works for you. BUT remember you only get out of it what you put into it. I feel off the wagon for 6 months and went up and down. BUT I cant imagine where I would be if I did nothing. NH... Ann Well Ann you sound like a pretty courageous person to me. I've tried since the age of eight to be at a healthy weight. I remember when it all started, with one pan of spaghetti and some childhood trauma, that was the combo that brought me on this 40 year plus and I do mean plus journey. It seemed for me that it was the emotional, psychological and spiritual trauma combined with the food that brought an unholy alliance together. I really loved you letter because you never give up and have a grand sense of humor. So maybe we can support each other. You've already helped me so much and I am going back to that weight watchers weight loss or no weight loss. Thanks for your help. Sometimes I think it is all impossible, but together all of us can help each other if only in baby steps. Brigit

You are paying good money for weight loss support. When you've had a bad week you need to go to those meetings far more than when you've had a good week. There's an old WW saying that goes something like " when you've had a bad week you need to come for support, when you've had a good week you need to come to give support to others. " Commit to going to weigh in and a meeting every single week regardless of how well you've stayed on plan. I reached goal many years ago, so I know what it feels like in my body. For myself I'm afraid it is failure. I've joined WW about 20 times in 6+ locations and I currently weigh 267 at 5'2 " . Failure? Yup. Sigh. The only time I've reached goal was after working on a ship for 6 months and having no consistent access to fast food, restaurants, candy, etc. I had all meals with others at the table so no hidden eating. That doesn't really work into my lifestyle now with 2 little kids. I wish I could spend 6 months at a spa with time to exercise as much as I wanted and all meals prepared by gourmet chefs to meet my nutrional requirements. Maybe I'll just become a nun. Do they take protestants with children? hee hee. We can't isolate ourselves from society to lose weight so I'll have to find another way. Treadmill Monday!!!!
