Ugh. You and me sister. Go ahead and go to the doc. Controlling bp is very important and you can monitor it as you eat healthy and exercise so you can lower meds (with doctor's guidance) as needed. My bp was dropping too low when I was down 19 pounds and exercising regularly. Unfortunately I fell off the wagon and it jumped right back up. I'm not doing a good job controlling my eating right now so I need to start exercising again to do something positive for my health. I'm stressed this week. I'm trying to get so much stuff done that was neglected with my 2 trips. This weekend I'm making the 4 hour drive to Dallas again to help my sister pack up her apartment. Next week I should have some catch up time. I haven't even started on our taxes. STRESS! I think I'll just file for an extension this year. I've never done that before. I cashed out IRAs this year so we're going to have to pay through the nose. BLECH! Ann
Guest guest
Spring and Summer are easier for me in dieting, perhaps because I just naturally want to eat lighter. Hopefully it will be the same for you! Either way great support here, as you already know! Just keep trying and keep posting! I was supposed to go in FEBRUARY for a follow up appointment with my doctor about HBP , sugars, and cholestoral. I've been avoiding going to get the blood work and then the follow up appointment.I'm borderline in all three areas. Eating well and exercise, I know could bring the numbers where I want them to be.So, it's spring, the weather has been beautiful, I'm grateful to be well and alive!! Guest guest
Faye make it a point to make that appointment. You can do it. Just because the scale is not moving you have been making better choices and that can do great things to your numbers. NH... Guest guest
The big irony of an extension? My understanding, when I worked at the IRS, is you still have to do a 'rough' of your taxes - /and pay/. It seems it'd just be easier to go ahead and do your taxes the first time out unless you've got something outstanding, or a loooooooooot of itemization to do. Guest guest
Faye, We can do this - I always start with good intentions but so far ugh! I have gained more than 1/2 of the weight back and am facing 300 (depending which way I wiggle on the scale) and I need to take control - so far just the water and even that is nowhere near the levels I used to do. I made 6 minutes on the stationary bike Monday - what a joke but it's a re-start. --- cambfaye <cafaye@...> wrote: > > Hi All: > There's some saying about good intentions; well > that's me lately ; > lots of good intentions which slip away as the > day goes on. > My culprits, as I've mentioned before: > muffins, pastries > binge eating at night > So I'm dusting myself off and starting a new > day ( or the rest of the > day, anyway) > I'm commited to taking good care of myself. Guest guest
> I'm commited to taking good care of myself. I was supposed to go in > FEBRUARY for a follow up appointment with my doctor about HBP , I have another month or so before my next follow up. I did get my BP's down into the 120/60-something range, but then life happened and they're up in the 130's again. Probably when I return to my exercise schedule Monday (I *hope* I do - this foot is aching really bad the past few days!) it'll go down again. >Eating well and exercise, I know could bring the numbers where > I want them to be. Exercise is *so* important in all 3 of those! I'm avoiding taking the new BP med he prescribed just by getting in my exercise and finding activities I enjoy doing for stress relief. Now I have some dirt to play in, those apron patterns I finally got around to ordering came in, and with summer weight fabric as cheap as it now is, I'm hoping to get a few Big Shirts made for this summer, now that my neck neuritis is behaving itself so I can sit at the machine again. > So, it's spring, the weather has been beautiful, Wait until next week! We're going to hit the 70's! To me, that's hot enough and I wish it were like that for the whole summer. >I'm also grateful to you for all your support.
