When you are in a situation where you will need to stand in one place for a while, you may notice a tendency for your feet to ache. One of the reasons for this is that the blood tends to stay in your lower extremities unless muscle action from leg movement helps squeeze the blood back up the veins to the heart and lungs. Do you know how to prevent this kind of foot ache? KEEP MOVING! Even when you are standing still, shift your weight from foot to foot. Step around with tiny steps. (Do this slowly or you will look neurotic.) Try it. It really works!
