Guest guest
Ok, I'm in the mode where I'm looking to purchase some DVDs and tapes for exercise. Only there are so many out there, I'm not sure what to get. I'd love one that was specifically for overweight, non-flexible women. LOL But all I see are the muscular, thin women. Come on tell me what you exercise to! Thanks!
Guest guest
There are wonderful walking exercise ones! I do mine off of Comcast on demand but they can be purchased anywhere. Walk away the pounds is good. You do themin your living room! They are great! Guest guest
When I started exercising I found that the Walk Away the Pounds dvd's were a great place to start. The routines are doable. You don't need to be real coordinated to do them. I use www.collagevideo.com to check out a lot of exercise videos before I purchase them. I like the sneak preview they provide. I usually get their printed catalog, go through it, find the ones I'm interested in and then check them out on the website. Dacia <>< Praise to the Lord! Oh, let all that is in me adore him! Guest guest
Something else you may want to consider doing is asking your physician for a referral to an exercise physiologist. When I started my medically supervised weight loss program, part of the program consisted of meeting with an exercise physiologist. She worked with me to develop an exercise program that worked for me. Together we developed an exercise program that I could build upon. One benefit of the exercise physiologist instead of a personal trainer is that she reports to my physician. My physician knows what we are working on. And what I am doing. That helps a lot. I have found that a personal trainer may not be as concerned about your health as someone in a health care field. Also, some insurance companies may help pay for the visits. Mine did not. But I consider it money well spent. Dacia <>< Praise to the Lord! Oh, let all that is in me adore him! All that has life and breath, Come now with praises before him! Guest guest
> I'd love one that was specifically for overweight, non-flexible > women. LOL Well, even a lot of the plus-sized tapes out there show the flexible, muscular types, like Idrea's videos. Our Links page, in the Exercises folder, can lead you to some fat-friendly videos, like Bliss, Izzolino's More to Love Fitness, and even Sansone. Don't let the skinny cuties on 's videos stop you - the steps are very basic and easy to do at your own pace. even mentions that if any step is too hard, just walk in place, but they're easy enough - marching in place, side steps, kicks, kick backs, and some simple stretches. Also (Here I go again) my all time favorite video - a video I purchased 3 VHS tapes of and now the DVD version - is and the Silver Foxes, the one he originally did for seniors that uses celebrity parents, including his own mom Shirley, as the exercisers. Very easy, very simple. Amazon has it in both versions. But be careful - there's another line of " Silver Foxes " videos out there that are *not* led by but also have celebrity parents, including most of those who were in the original. This one is also included on the DVD, but you might want to just ignore it. I've been doing this video since it first came out in 1986 or so, when I was a lot younger and more flexible than I am now. They have a huge selection of all > different levels! Add my praises to this company. I was buying audio and video tapes from them long before the Internet existed. When I had an exercycle I bought the Videocycle tapes from them; when heavily into walking for fitness I would get audio tapes at various speeds, and I bought more than a few general exercise videos there, too. Sue in NJ who just noticed the link to them was missing from the Links page, so added it again
Guest guest
I ordered a catalog from Collage Video. Also I went to the store during lunch bound and determined to at least get ONE exercise DVD to start me off. So I got Sansone's Walk & Kick.
