Guest guest
Does anyone have any facts or opinions as to why the Flu of 1918 was so deadly compared to other years? I honestly think there was more going on than meets the eye or is said to the public. There has to be an underlying issue that was at work. April Influenza outbreak of 1918 was from common strain http://www.thehollandsentinel.net/stories/103104/new_103104060.shtml
Guest guest
The biggest reason so many people died during that outbreak was due to asprin. It was a new drug at the time and being prescribed by allopaths left and right. The homeopaths lost only 1-2% of their patients. The allopaths lost around 35%, I believe (it may be higher). There is a whole book about it. I can't remember the name. I'm sure Sheri knows. > Does anyone have any facts or opinions as to why the Flu of 1918 was so deadly compared to other years? > > I honestly think there was more going on than meets the eye or is said to the public. Guest guest
Well, I don't know......I guess I would need to know what the living conditions were like in Europe and the primitive cultures. And maybe the developing nations were using white willow bark for pain? I've read lots of very convincing evidence against asprin as far as the flu goes. But I have fits if people even think about giving my kids tylenol, so perhaps I am easily swayed in that regard. I know you are very well researched, so I would be interested in why you think these epidemics were so deadly. Maybe there is no good reason, but it's hard for me to think that there are horrible diseases that wipe everyone out for no reason. Maybe I just don't " want " to think that! > > Does anyone have any facts or opinions as to why the Flu of 1918 > was so deadly compared to other years? > > > > I honestly think there was more going on than meets the eye or is > said to the public. Guest guest
Wouldn't it have to do with the sanitation conditions at the time - thats what I have always thought...
