Guest guest
Holly, my husband has asthma and he takes a lung and bronchial formula that you can look at www.herbsfirst.com. I have his formula so I make it up myself. My husband just takes two capsules daily. Even when he forgets to take it here and there he is okay. There is also a kid version in extract too. There is also a informative asthma article on it too. VERY interesting. Here is the direct link. http://www.herbsfirst.com/discriptions/asthmapg.html I have some background on this man and he had adminstered some tincture of lobelia to a man that suffered with asthma for many years. Anyway, read the first testimonial towards the end of the informative article on asthma. We use lobelia and it has really helped, but we use it in powder form and in the Lung and Bronchial formula. My dh doesn't want the tincture. lol. He's too afraid to 'bring it up'. You'll understand after reading the testimonials, #1 and #2. Using lobelia in small amounts doesn't bring on the kind of result as Dr. C wanted for this elderly man. lol. But if you are in dire need, it's great to have on hand. Anyway, my SIL has asthma too. Her chiropractor gave her something similar to the tincture of lobelia and she told me that she was coughing up black gunk....that's exactly what happened to that elderly man. I hope this helps. I can't but help speak up about this stuff because it's made a world of difference in our family. My dh, poor thing, couldn't go to sleep some nights very well because he couldn't lay down to sleep. He hasn't had a problem since. Donna Homeschooling mom to 3 Hunter (6), (5), and Abigail (born still 6/12/04, waiting on us to return HOME) hjjdherring@... Guest guest
Donna, I'm fascinated - but not at all surprised - to find that lobelia can be used homoeopathically for asthma attacks! (Recognising that the individual symptoms should be considered and it's not going to be a cure-all remedy - to stop Sheri nagging me!! )) http://www.abchomeopathy.com/r.php/Lob Sue > Re: OT: Asthma Help > > > > Holly, my husband has asthma and he takes a lung and bronchial > formula that you can look at www.herbsfirst.com. Guest guest
Holly, I know that it is probably far for you, but there is a naturopath that we are taking Colin to who doesn't charge that much. I think that she charges $70 for the initial consultation and then only $35 for any additional consultations. We are also looking into NAET or NMT to help him as well, I am not playing around with this anymore. Anyway, other things that I have found out are: Juicing fresh, organic fruits and vegetables (I was told that blueberries are great for the lungs) Someone also told me about using amino acids, I can't remember which ones, but I am sure that you can find them if you do a search. Have you had him tested for allergies yet? We did a full test on Colin, found out that he had a myriad of food allergies, so we cut them out, this was less than a week ago and his eczema is already cleared up and his breathing is better. Good Luck Sara OT: Asthma Help My 8 year old son is having problems with his asthma. His doctor has him on an asthma pill and two inhalers. We stopped the one because he was getting hyped up on it. He goes to an allergiest on Friday. I am not comfortable with the " answers " the doctor gives to my questions. I don't want my son to have to depend on a pill for the rest of his life. So I have decided to look naturally to help him. He currently takes flax seed oil. I do this mainly for his skin and nails (he now has beautiful skin). I read that vit. C is suppose to help so I need to buy some. I am not interested in using homeopathics. We don't have one near us. I don't have the $200+ to even go to one. I am looking for suppliments that I could give my son. Any suggestions? Holly
Guest guest
Sara, Where do you live? We have really good health insurance. If I could find a naturopath who took our insurance, I would be willing to drive 2+ hours (I think). ~`~Holly~`~ iel (5/96) & Jenavieve (5/02) " It is not how fast we learn that counts.
