Any health food store should carry it. It looks pricey but it's really not. It's something like 300 times sweeter than sugar so a little bit goes a loooong way. Guest guest
Hi, I was wondering if any knows of any information about Stevia. My father uses this in his iced tea instead of regular sugar. Does anyone have any good credible information about stevia good or bad that they could share with me. I thought somewhere i read that it messes with your DNA but i dont know if that is true or not. If you have any idea about stevia I would appreciate your help. Thank you,

Guest guest
The link that Kay posted is great. My sis and mom has used stevia for years. There is nothing wrong with using it at all, it's much better for you than cane sugar. My sister usually didn't buy the powder because it didn't taste as good as the liquid, but recently she has bought some powder and this was really good. Since we're talking about this, what brands of stevia do you guys like? Donna Homeschooling mom to 3 Hunter (6), (5), and Abigail (born still 6/12/04, waiting on us to return HOME) hjjdherring@... Guest guest
Where do you get Stevia and is it pricey? Health food store, like someone already mentioned, but I do want to add that some taste slightly different than others, so if you happen to dislike the first one that you buy, don't knock them all because it's pretty good. It should tell you how much to use. If you use too much, it won't taste good. Guest guest
We use stevia in our 2 year olds choclate milk and kool aid. We happened to get a pound of stevia powder extract (which is the white powder instead of the green powder) off of ebay for $55.00. That sounds like alot but considering 1 pound of stevia is equivilant to about 300 pounds of sugar it is a good price. However the company that sold it on ebay no longer does so The company that sold it is www.herbaladvantage.com and they sell direct. Stevia is extremly good for you especially if you are diabetic but do not want to use sweet n low or aspartame (equal, nutrasweet, etc.) Rena P.S. Here are some other websites with more information. www.cookingwithstevia.com www.stevia.net
Guest guest
Some have the taste of sweet and low.Yuck. There was a packet(maybe NOW brand) that I thought was ok.Also,if kept indoors you can grow your own plant.Use it like you would mint leaves. I know there is a stevia cookbook out. As far as it being good/bad for you I would say good, but it has been a long time since I looked at info on it.Perhaps like soy it now had some issues uncovered. Research,research,research-never ends does it?
